Check to see what's backwards compatible on Xbox before going and buying ancient hardware. Alot of stuff plays on an affordable Xbox One and don't have to fiddle with the old pre1080p setup.

Definitely think that EA improved a lot of things from the original bf2 that makes it better, but the original is an overall better and wholistic package especially with galactic conquest.

Xbox been had them on the backwards compatibility list awhile now. Could've easily played them on the Xbox One and Series S/X as well as Episode 3 ROTS

Steam battlefront 2 2005 servers for PC kinda suck. There nice, but there limited and lagy. Not there fault, just a lack of resources

Cannot wait to relive my childhood. But after all these Battlefront videos no one is mentioning Instant Action 😞 i just hope Battlefront 2 is how it was in 2005

yes it will be like 2005 but with some extra maps from the 2004 one and the xbox dlc caracthers and a multiplayer cross gen

I am so glad that true star wars battlefront is back, even if remastered, definitely getting and will play a lot

Great to see all the positivity and excitement it's bringing for the community we deserve a win! this is where the fun begins.

Hopefully Aspyr are given the code for the unfinished battlefront 3 from pandemic and can polish it up and give us the game we should've had as BF3

They aren’t capable of doing so, maybe if they contracted modders like for Tomb Raider Remaster they can. Know one knows anything about Aspyr, I’d be cautious because they could screw this up.

Battlefront 2 defined my early childhood. Its space battles and vehicular gameplay remain unmatched even now. I had hoped that the 2017 version of Battlefront 2 would continue with this style of gameplay, but unfortunately, it didn't. I'm optimistic that this re-release will demonstrate to the decision-makers that Battlefront 3 would be worthwhile investment because we all know that it is!

I just want them to add tatooine dune sea to battlefront 2 2005, along with the second naboo map and second bespin map, and the special vehicles that come in those maps

@@thereishaironyourscreen2991yeah, Battlefront 2 doesn’t have simultaneous ground and air combat like the first game had outside of a small exception or two with the Snowspeeders on Hoth. I’d still love to have BF1 maps ported over but it doesn’t isn’t a necessity, it gives an excuse to actually play the first game to experience all of the exclusive maps and the ground and air combat

I'm hoping that the moment for all the characters and star fighters has been improved on. After re-downloading the classic battlefront 2 the other day and playing it for a bit, I couldn't help but notice how stiff the character movement is. I'm just hoping that with this re-release/remaster of these classic battlefront games, that the moment has been improved and is more fluid etc. I'm also hoping that for the multiplayer, they have added in a scoreboard. It would definitely make these games feel a bit more mordern if a scoreboard was added.

Bought this on my girlfriend's xbox a couple months ago. I owned it originally on Ps2 and then later PC so I'm familiar with the different versions. My question is will any of these support 4 player galactic conquest splitscreen like the original xbox version?

I remember playing these on PlayStation 2

So if i own both games from the xbox online store do they get an update or do i have to buy them again?

I'm much more curious with what they will DO TO the older versions 🤔

Still don't understand why it takes up 54 GBs, I own both games. They only take 6 GBs total.

I am a little confused so is it just 2 separate games with the price tag together because both battlefront games do share the same assets together and is that t he reason the File size is so large because your are essentially duplicating the same assets?

BF3 was already done when they cancel it, according to many insiders thr game just needed final touches to be released. They could it release it in this collection and would have been massive. But o well, lets hope they do continue this franchise.

The original code for BF3 was probably lost by now let’s be fair. The original studio is also long gone and was closed by EA in 2009 after buying em.

I've compared some shots and it doesn't look like the textures have been updated, though this game is likely using the pc versions of the games and the pc version looks better than the ps2 version

Yeah, I'm very confused about why so many KZreadrs act as if we're getting an amazing remastered version of the game, while to me it looks pretty much like the PC version I've been playing all these years - and arguably, with mods, it looks even better. There are also tons of people saying "I never thought we'd get to play these games again", as if the PC / Xbox versions weren't readily available for decades. It's almost as if people have completely forgotten about these games, and then with this announcement they've jumped straight to creating videos instead of checking anything at all.

It's Modded version for pc ported over to consoles.. The modd creater was on steam community saying that they are using a outdated version of it he said if yous are going too use my mod make sure u use my updated version 😂

very small announcement window before release so I doubt it - maybe later on down the line but definitely not for PC is my guess. Switch more likely than xbox and ps too

My bet is battlefront 3 will eventually be a thing but not for at least 1.5 years, though this would be just the thing to feel that fairly short gap🤔

How exactly will these map sizes even support up to 64 units? Even with 2 players as heavies and 30 AI its an absolute gongshow so how will it mediate something like 15+ players choosing to play a heavy class and spamming mines and so on? Or most of a team playing as jet troopers flying everywhere while another team is stuck on foot and so on, oh god or a team of droidekas... Yeahhhhhh....

At this price you would hope that galactic conquest and instant action are playable online…

the last update for old battlefront 2 took away controller support 😔 "encouragement" to buy this one, i guess

Let's not forget that these games already exist on PC and classic consoles, also available for emulation. It would be wise to remember that very little credit for the classic collection should be given to Aspyr or disney and this should not be allowed to excuse their previous fuck-ups with the rebooted Battlefront 1+2 under EA and DICE. Its a repackaged collection of nearly 20-year old games that is more expensive than just buying the classic games separately, unless I'm missing some kind of catch that makes the classic collection unique. Base-game DLC only exclusive to certain consoles isnt an excuse because that can all be modded in for the grand price total of a few minutes tinkering with mods. You're essentially buying a port on steam of a game that already exists *on* steam. People need to chill out and step back to realise that this isn't 2005 again or someone has miraculously made a good battlefront game, because those games already exist. The only redeemable quality about it is making it available on more platforms; that is *IT*. Nobody has reinvented the wheel here, its been there on the steam store page for the last 19-20 years.

I just hope the switch version runs well. I put countless hours into the psp version back in my youth 🙏

It should run well. Aspyr is usually good about getting these 20 year old games to play smooth on Switch. Don't know how the online will work.

@@PP7Silenced well crap, I don't have Internet at home, I always need to go to hotspots to download, it takes hours and hours to download. I would prefer a physical release, but even if they came out with a physical release, they might still make you need to download content.

Galactic Conquest online! :( my cousin and I used to play it on split screen but we live too far apart from each other now. Hopefully if not, PC version will officially support modding and some can make a mod for that.

It would be awesome. At least this makes it available to you so you can have it for whenever your back together. It took months but I finally got a chance to get a few friends together to play Goldeneye on one of their Xbox and even though it only lasted about 90 minutes it was worth playing again just for that.

It's been unavailable on Nintendo and Playstation consoles for nearly 20 years. It's remastered by old school definition meaning enhanced frame rate and resolution. People want to play there old games like they originally played them.

Unfortunately no. You'll need a USB 3 cable running from your pc into a week old aubergine to be able to play. A parsnip will also work but is a tad more fiddly.
