I just cant believe how Battlefield 1 was treated with such respect and gravity for the time it depicted, never shying away from the brutality and fear that came from WW1, giving players the message that everyone fighting, no matter where they were from, were just human beings caught up in something bigger than themselves, even depicting female characters and player models that were respectful of the time; yet Battlefield V just spit in everyone's face and was basically just a photo-realistic version of Battlefield Heroes. The worst thing about the campaign is that it's disrespectful on both levels, not only are they robbing men who fought of their stories, they're telling women who fought that their stories weren't good enough. They could have had war stories starring female Russian snipers, one about Aleksandra Samusenko commanding a T-34 would have been particularly interesting and powerful, or a young French Resistance fighter taking back Paris alongside the allies. There was so much to draw from and they just fucked it up so bad.

Hardline, BF1, BF5 are all shit tier compared to their predecessors.... bo64625 not really, if they cared they would’ve marketed the game but they didn’t. I saw more advertising for FIFA 19 than BFV. Anyway those sports games make EA the most money so why should they bother with Battlefield. I wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down DICE, but I hope that doesn’t happen.

Sure... Games back then had patching via regional releases(Europe versions were sometimes different than American/Japanese versions). Games back then had so little content so they were always complete. These kinds of games aren't every game that release, these are just the minority. Lots of games now are still really good, like the Metro series, Resident evil, Spider man, and most Nintendo games. Stop living in nostalgia and look at the facts.

This game was always amazing. Animations are satisfying, mechanics like the falling after an explosion were really nice, killing people always feels nutty etc... It just lacks content. Why is that? Because EA doesnt give a sh1t about games with potential and because the game didnt sell much. The major let down was because of the historical inacuraccy, and thats a big mistake, but did people really have to p1ss on the game because there were women?

If Anthem does poorly, and I think it will, Bioware will be closed down within a year. One of their branch studios was already shut down after the tragedy that was Andromeda. They're on their last life. That same fate is exactly what's waiting for Dice.

@@dotulord7775 It will do poorly, its Destiny with an EA spin on it. So more flashy looking, better sound, worse UI and never to be heard of again 2 months after release. Not to mention Warframe is now a strong name in the Genre and pushes out amazing content (even if its slow at times) for free. You can even fucking trade real life currency in tradechat. Meaning if you put some effort into it, you will be stacked in Premium currency in no time even if you dont invest a single ct. Anthem is trying to cash in on that exact market (Destiny/Warframe), and people who love Warframe will stick with it. Same with Destiny. The only people they will get is people who didnt like the Grind in Warframe or Destiny fans who hated Destiny 2. Whats more likely to happen is that Anthem draws attention to that genre, so people play that and then will switch to Destiny or Warframe after 1 month.

Actually the French African soldiers were sent back home early and placed into "temporary" camps and payed way less despite beimg promised to be paid the same. They protested and were shot. I mean France had Africans displayed in Zoos as animal exhibits. FYI I hate BF5 and hate the virtue signaling but the French were not kind to Africans and Jews even before ww2.

EA screws up everything it touches. I knew this like 20 years ago and I don’t mess with them anymore. Look at what they did with Command & Conquer, way back when, and even then it was like, oh wow, they destroyed another franchise. Pretty hard to destroy a franchise that was as legendary as command & conquer.

Honestly, If this is the format that he will adopt, I wouldnt mind. If the sketches are taking too much time, scrap it. At least, in my opinion. I dont come for the costumes, but the content. I do agree, that AJ has been consistent because he didnt need to focus on the costumes, sketches, editing those in and I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. Keep it up man !!!

Is it really half the game? A sp war story that's going to have 0 impact on the mp community, a test range, and tank customisation, and tides of war are 50% of all the map design, gunplay mechanics and gun design, tank and airplane design, etc. While I know your reiterating the point Joe made, I'm simply saying I don't think it's a fair point. Imo those elements might constitute 20% of the game, and all the dlc of this game is going to be free, hopefully there's a lot going to be added. Just like all the other BFs...

I come back to this video every time BFV does something stupid to see how far they’ve come to give me a little hope. A year and a half later.. They have failed us

The game is in the beginning of the war 1942 they are going in order and the u.s. is coming in October

Just as a side note: for anyone having problems with the glare in Battlefield 5 like Joe is at 17:56, try going into the video options and turning "Ambient Occlusion" to SSAO instead of HBAO. It won't fix it completely but it'll make it a Hell of a lot easier to see than it was before.

Edit: 2 years later and I'm over here still on BF4/BF1

Yeah, another few BF games failing as badly as this and its done I think. People migjt imagine its impossible for a big series like this to disappear but EA has done it many times before now. Simcity is esentically dead, Command and Conquer a shallow mobile cash grab, Dead Space (they bought then shut down the dev studio). So i would be worried.

I feel ya Joe, I’ve had to convince myself to have fun with Fallout 76 being that I eat, sleep and breathe everything Fallout related. While Fallout 76 is admittedly a broken mess of a game there’s still a significant amount of content that’s been add as of late. But Battlefield V...... That doenst seem very fair. Even at launch BF5 wasn't as bad as FO76. Sorry but i dont see how bf5 can be worse

@@gabrielmcadams3417 Yes. I was so hyped for this game just on idea of shooting an M1 Garand in a Modern AAA title. Oh how wrong I was. The gun isn't even on the horizon of being released.

Last I checked 76 is back up to 60$ on psn, I think that was just a "poorly" timed sale that people took out of context(Just googled the prices, pretty sure I'm right on this one).

It truly warms my heart to see EA's stock price plunge. They have been an aggressive, malignant cancer on the gaming industry for too long. Look at all the great dev teams absorbed then destroyed by this company. Maxis was a hard one for me personally ruining the Simcity franchise. They specialize in taking innovative,, creative game companies and turning their work into generic homogenized crap for mass appeal and a vehicle for their shitty micro transactions. Let EA wither and die.

yeah that's cool and all but every single public gaming company has "plunged" as well (EA/ATVI/TTWO are all up about 500% in the last 5 years..) - it really has nothing to do with EA's business as a whole (record earnings and sales every qtr) but cyclical rotation out of gaming stocks (including AMD/NVDA) ...but yeah wouldn't expect that level of thinking or scope around these parts..
