Pattern mousse definitely won. The definition is better and the price is better. I also like the fact that pattern mousse almost disappeared instantly after you applied it. It's great because that means if you have to go outside right away, you won't look like someone who rushed out of their house with suds on their hair like their house was on fire 🤣

@mammajeanine She will really make a killing if she does it. She should know, she talked about her own struggles with finding hats to fit her head/hair combo 😊. It's even harder to find satin lined, feminine ones in that category-darned near impossible. She would have the monopoly at first.

I don't trust devacurl anymore but it looks good in your hair. The pattern side is so nice. I think I'm sold.

@purplesugar1006 I never heard what happened after the lawsuit. Guess they settled for a few million and had to change all their labels. Now their website is stressing how safe their products are. But there was nothing sent to people who purchased their products. I got the whole line from Amazon and wasn't sent anything about the lawsuit. I was experiencing hairloss/thinning around the time that I started using the products too. I've since stopped and luckily my hair has bounced back a lot

Devacurl (in general) wasn’t made for Afro hair so I’m not surprised. You can tell by the ‘shaving cream’ texture of the foam-it responds better to less texture in the hair, and like you said it’s for volume. However I’ve used those types of thick mousses on rollersets for my relaxed hair and it’ll work really nicely for that. Flexi rods too.

Giirrrrrllll! Soon as you applied Pattern to that first section I said “Oop! Game over! I know which one I’m trying.” Unless I’m styling my hair in the shower (which rarely happens), I can’t stand styling on soaking wet hair. I hate feeling the water running down my face, neck, etc. The Pattern side came out beautiful, defined, slightly elongated, and shiny making your hair look as moisturized as it was and probably felt.

I know this is about the mousse but that melanin plumping deep conditioner literally softens my hair as I'm putting it in. Everyone in my house (children and all) use that deep conditioner and it is amazing! My favorite deep conditioner ever! Okay I'm done...back to the mousses 😆.

They both looked great but the Pattern Curl Mousse definitely delivered with that shine & definition!

Pattern Beauty I believe won BUT the price of her products is 😮 I have used the scalp serum when I had braids. It has a cooling sensation to the scalp which helped with the itching. Thank You for this video it’s good to see you ❤

I just tried Pattern myself and it went really well. Also my hair dried quite quickly. I have really thick 4 type hair, so my hair takes so much time to dry.

I miss Jane Carters original formulas as well. They were the best!! And I loved the natural citrus scent of some of them when shockingly I’m not a huge citrus person.

Definitely Pattern. My kids use a combo of Melanin and Pattern products and I like her stuff. But Melanin and your flaxseed gel recipe are core for me. Nothing pops my curls like that.

The DevaCurl would work great for my fine low-density hair. The Pattern gives more shine and definition.

The sheen on the Pattern side 😍. Your hair is also naturally shiny, the Deva Curl side made your hair look dull .

I always use my shea moisture leave-in under mousse and I have no problem. No crunchy hair.

Pattern won, but I'd like to see how the Deva would do if it were applied on soaking-wet hair. I wonder if less of the product would be needed and if the definition would be better. I like putting a spray leave-in under any mousse that I use. I feel like it's the best of both worlds I get to use a leave-in and still have the soft fluffy hold of the mousse.
