@@DubABattery Yeah people were generally excited, and while critics were happy to bash it, the audience for episode 1 really seemed to thoroughly enjoy the movie, the opening days had lots of eager crowds, but when this came on, all the idle noises you hear during a film (rustling of popcorn bags, coughing, occasional comments, etc, all disappeared.) Also the star wars cosplayers on the opening night were amazing. I was really young then though haha.

The thing about John Williams's music, although EXTREMELY potent at conjuring up images and scenes from Star Wars, can also extend into history. Historic battles, epic battles, the soul of humanity in any galaxy. His music transcends time.

I’ve always said, Star Wars is Futuristic scenery with a medieval soundtrack. Listening to any of his pieces, especially from Star Wars, and imagining lines of Medieval knights, noblemen in high castles, or even a lone warrior against a massive dragon, it fits like a glove. Easily one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.

@@xenomorphic7887 i dont know if "medieval" is the word for all of it. Some of it is medieval, but some of it sounds older and some of it sounds newer. And i think the reason it works so well is because of the "a long time ago" part of star wars, because that is what makes it so unique. Whereas other space fantasy/sci fi stuff that directly is about earth and humans need to look and sound futuristic in order for it to be genuine, star wars doesnt need to take earths technology and history in consideration when making the universe. As a result, it feels both really advanced and really old at the same time. And i think the music captures that perfectly

One of the best stories I heard about John Williams is when asked by Steven Spielberg to make music for Schillers List, he was shown the test screens without music, and left in tears. He then apparently turned to Steven and said. "I can't compose this, to do it justice you need the best musician in the world." Steven turned to him and said. "I would get them, but all the best musicians in history are dead." Implying that John Williams is the best Musician alive.

Another cool fact about Schindler's List. The people who worked on the movie were so depressed by it, that they asked Robin Williams to come to the set and cheer them up with jokes. And he didn't disappoint.

Don't get me wrong, I like Duel of the Fates, but Battle of the Heroes is absolutely top-notch legendary.

I remember watching this battle as a child. I wasn't sad at all, I was in awe Now, after watching The Clone Wars it destroys me every single time I watch it. I can't help it. I get in tears each time

I've always loved the idea that by the time of 5:13 the battle has continued on for so long and the tension is so high that it is literally breaking the notes and the flow of the music... and also the idea that by the time the Force theme appears, Anakin and Obi-Wan have exhausted their natural staminas and are calling on the force to fight. As if though this is the moment the fight stops being about Anakin and Obi-Wan and instead becomes part of something greater.

"YOU WERE MY BROTHER ANAKIN! I LOVED YOU!" "I HATE YOU!" to this day... remembering that conversation, and how it happened on the screen.. seeing the pain in Obi-wan's eyes... hurt. Star wars (bar the newest entries to the series) is one of the greatest works of art, ever created. then and now.

God I remember this whole scene and fight in the theaters. It was just quiet to see two brothers fight to the death. When Anakin was struck down, small gasps could be heard and Vader being built was emotional.

This was the apex of John Williams' career. You can tell that he FELT the story of the prequels!

The Entire Soundtrack during this fight will forever last with me. Thank you for this.

​@@germophobic5407the film versions are usually the rough cuts of a song, and the ones they put on the official released soundtrack are more polished and finished..so the reason movie mixes sound better are because those are the raw and rough versions lol

Crazy how I just finished the Clone Wars tonight. Now I'm here. People always look at Star Wars as being nerdy and childish. What meaning this entire trilogy has and the impact it leaves on people who are true fans.

This movie is a masterpiece. Soundtrack, avengers level of epic action. My favorite Star Wars movie easily and I have no problem saying that

Star Wars unfortunately has come to be associated with a very large number of products, some good, a lot mediocre. However, to me Star Wars is the name of a six volume series created by the visionary George Lucas, who, regardless of various shortcomings, created a truly masterful and genius story that will be remembered by millions. This scene was the end of George Lucas's final star wars movie, and to me it marks when Star Wars was completed

It's sad to see Obi-Wan in such a sad and broken state. To go from almost untouchable in Ep 3 to where he is now is is depressing, and really showing of the PTSD he has from 10 years ago. Hoping to see his character development bring him back closer to where he was!

I have just as many memories of that epic fight scene as I have of replaying it over and over again on Mustafar in Battlefront 2.

The best part is I know exactly what is happening without see the movie

same, saw the movie in theater in 2005 when I was 6 (watched the previous 5 movies before on DVD), surreal experience

Anyone else watching the fight between kenobi and Vader in the series with battle of the heroes playing? makes it 1000x better!! huge opportunity they missed out on!! XD

This is probably the best fight scene music I’ve ever known

4:40 this whole section (especially the part where Yoda and Palpatine fight while entering the Senate area) is the best battle music of all time

God I love how you can so easily grasp John Williams' vision as you move through each subsequent track, through each phase of the fight. Thank you for throwing this mix together, it's amazing!

After watching obi wan kenobi, this song brings a whole new feel to the aftermath of order 66.

*Watching Anakin and Obi-Wan's duel in 2005. Before seeing the Clone Wars:* Wow. Great fight scene. Love the choreography and music. I can _feel_ Anakin's rage! *Watching their duel after seeing The Clone Wars:* _Uncontrollable sobbing_ 😭

It is physically impossible to listen to this as a Star Wars fan without getting chills, goosebumps, hyped, even almost tearing up.

7:58 that part for me does hurt the most, the clash of brothers, the lava rising at the background and this part of the music just...a storm of emotion rushing through me, it's the best movie for me

When Yoda dropped his walking cane and hold is heart hearing his fellow Jedi getting slaughtered, I felt that….

No matter who controls Star Wars narratively, they can never ruin John Williams’ music. An enduring gift for all us fans.

Anakin: "You turned her against me!" Obi-Wan: "No, Anakin, she's literally facing you right now" Epic plot twist.

4:48 I don't even know what it is, but when that deeper point kicks in its just goosebumps everytime. This hasn't even happened to me with another piece before where it's that consistent, like I can rewind ten seconds, come back, and it's still going crazy. John Williams is an absolute genius, and I fricking love how much he put into this franchise. He's the make or break and it was definitely a make!

I had no idea that the track ‘Battle of the heroes’ was preluded by so many tracks. I mean it makes perfect sense the song only goes for 4 mins and the final scene is longer than that. But still, extra epic

Personally, I never even noticed that Duel of the Fates played during the final battle until a friend pointed it out to me. I was just so enthralled that I never noticed. Now, it’s one of my absolute favorite parts of the song.

Yeah, I have tried (and am still trying) to prevent KZread from placing ads inbetween the splits. It’s very frustrating, and completely destroys the entire point of the video. Sorry about the inconvenience!

I can just SEE Anakin/Darth Vader marching. With conviction in his heart and blood on his hands. Marching up the steps of the Temple. Pacing the catwalks on Mustafar. Nearly drunk on the power he had always before held back, his fate is irrevocably changed. And to meet that Darkness, rises Light. Obi Wan using Padme to track Anakin, finding his brother all but consumed by Vader, and regretfully resorting to the painful duty of fighting him. This song is an absolute masterpiece. May John Williams will always be celebrated.

Its quite easy to do actually, if u want more info on it just search “Obi-Ani lightsaber spin” and a tutorial will pop up. Its pretty fun

My favorite 15 minutes in any form of cinema. The conflict that the whole trilogy has been building towards and it's the greatest fight in the entire saga, then throw this masterpiece of a score over it. It's magical. You can't imagine this scene without the music
