Battle of the Bulge Private on how he became a real soldier

Robert "Bob" White was drafted into the Army in 1943 and would ultimately find himself serving as a communications lineman with the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 17th Airborne Division.
On Christmas Eve 1944, White flew across the English Channel and landed in France. His unit moved through the snow towards the sound of distant artillery fire to help quell the last major German offensive operation of World War II, The Battle of the Bulge.
White would suffer minor wounds during the battle leading to him being awarded the Purple Heart. He also witnessed the worst of the Nazi war machine, helping to liberate a forced labor camp near Essen, Germany. These memories would lead to a lifelong struggle with PTSD after the war ended.
In 2018, more than 70 years after the end of WWII, White was awarded a long overdue Bronze Star for his actions during the Battle of the Bulge.

Presidents and their respective administrations have being taking shits on ALL Veterans since WW2. Sadly most Americans believe that WW2 vets were the last vets to have ever existed.

This reminds me of a video that I saw while back where they talked to a vet,and he looked at people strangely every time they called him a hero and thanked him for his service. He said that the true heroes are the ones in the graves and that there is nothing glorious about war, and that people should just stop thanking him for killing other human beings.

A veteran of the battle of the bulge told me about when he was driving a tank and they turned a corner and came face to face with a German tank. It was on the edge of a hill and he said it scared him so bad that he just rammed into it. He got a good laugh telling me about the tank tumbling down the hill and then they watched the Germans stumble out of it at the bottom of the hill.

He is being honest,, what else are you supposed to do in a situation like that my God it is all about survival,, these Veterans are the reason why we have the freedom we have & we must keep it that way , that is the least that you can do for all the Veterans who took the ultimate sacrifice,, they have my 💯 percent respect 🇺🇲🇺🇲

Thank you for your service and may God bless you!! I wish there were more Americans more like this man and the patriotic ones we have left versus the spoiled rotten brats who are extremely overly privileged and do nothing that riot commit domestic terror. Problem is I’ve never had any problems in their lives in this man right here is a world war two veteran and witnessed his buddies get killed. That triggered him and he had something over which to be triggered enough to make him go after and want to kill all of the enemy and it was a time of war.. God bless this man and heroes like him even though they say they’re not heroes, and they were just doing their jobs.. the soldiers from World War II are so humble!

They were all Members of those Generation's of Humanity that were Known as The Greatest Generation. FYI it was Also Thier Parents, Grand Parents and Thier Forefathers, before them that we Need Very much to Remember & Recall. Absolutely Thank Our Veterans, if You Recognize or See Them. Thank You for Sharing & Reminding US.
