BATTLE OF THE BOOM! SENNHEISER MKH416 vs SONY XLR-K3M

Changing up the pace, today I am reviewing the Sennheiser MKH416 vs the kit Sony K3M mics. I will be using the K3M adapter feeding directly into the sony for all tests. As the Sennheiser MKH416 has a kit of its own. In the next video we will be testing the preamps of the Zoom H6N vs the preamps in the sony!
Enjoy
BTW, I saw low pass filter alot, just change pass to cut and we will be all good lol.

I got my XLR-K3M after battling with an extremely noisy line-out from my Zoom F6. So far so good as well on my A7R-IV. Thanks for sharing how the auto settings are working well for you.

Can I please ask you an audio question ? I am a newbie in general. I have a Sony A7iii and enjoy recording video of streams, rivers and other nature scenes and want to increase the quality of the sound on my videos. Can I use two microphones with the K3M to create better quality stereo sound ? or should I use an H6 to add stereo sound to my nature videos ?

Hi, I get hiss while recording audio with an external mic connected to the 3.5 jack on a Sony FDR AX700. On manual settings I can reduce the noise but it's still there, even though I have clean audio coming out of my tascam (no hiss at all). Based on your experience, does the Sony XLR-K3M add-on reduces the hiss completely? I mean, is it better to invest on the K3M than using the standard 3.5 input?

Hey! Sorry for the rookie question: I’m not sure if I understand the whole functionality of the K3M… Is it main that is it an adapter to use XLR/phantom power mics with your Sony camera… Or does it also provide superior preamps and sound procesing?

This test would have been so much more helpful if you did it without the computer noise in the background. Now it's impossible to hear how clean (or not) the audio pre-amps are on this thing. I give you a thumbs up anyway for actually doing real life tests on this adapter instead of just talking about the buttons, inputs and knobs. I would love to have heard the actual differences between the K3M and the Zoom H6 too by the way.

I was hoping you were gonna show the 416 into the zoom H6 for comparison.

Would like to know if Sennheiser MKH-416 fits into the holder under the Sony XLR-K3M?

Sir please sell the zomm h6 and zoom h4 because both are trash and have the same pre amps also sell the SONY XLR-K3M because sounds bad and buy the mix pre 3 ii to pair with mkh416, that is the best quality audio combo you can get
