Battle of Aylesford | 455 AD | 20k Historical Cinematic Total War Battle - Attila

In this Cinematic, you can experience the Battle of Aylesford which took place in 455 AD on the plains near Aylesford or Epsford, Kent, Britannia. Horsa and Hengest, two Anglo-Saxon brothers, turned against the Britons after helping them push back the Pictish invaders from southern Britain. The Britons asked for their assistance. Horsa and Hengest were two brothers leading the Germanic Angles, Saxons and Jutes who famously migrated to the British Isles for their rich lands. The Britons could not face the Picts alone after the Roman Empire withdrew their legions during the 5th century AD following trouble with Attila the Hun and other threats. The Briton king of Vortigern and his family led his troops against the Anglo-Saxons. The battle is briefly mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and Historia Brittonum. Details of this battle including casualties and results elude us. The Battle of Aylesford was one of the 4 battles between the Britons and the Anglo-Saxons. Since there are little details to describe the battle, I took the freedom to add some myself in speculation. Many of these details may not be historically accurate including number of troops, battle orders and formations, etc.

You should do battle of Brega. It was A Northumbrian battle in Ireland. Northumbrians invaded (raided really) Ireland. It's the first battle the Irish encountered from the English.

It is supposed that the name "Kent" is derived from a pre-Indo-European origin. Julius Caesar calls the region "Cantium" in his "Commentarii de Bello Gallico" in the year 51 BC. At that time, Germanic tribes didn't settle yet in Britannia, so they cannot have been the the name-givers.

Боюсь на самом деле при Эйлсфорде сражались не больше 800 бриттов против 300 ютов, англов и саксов, а учитывая что это была их 4 подряд битва, может и ещё меньше

@@AdituLaudisMMXXI out of curiosity did you use the Saxon faction instead of the Jutes? While Saxons did play part I thought they were Jutes no? Or am I wrong and missing something. Just a curios question.

From my research, they were a mix of Angles, Saxons and Jutes. I chose the Saxons because of a mod I used to get better looking units.

Cavalry was not an integral part of armies between Anglo-Saxons and Britons. The Normans used their cavarly to more effect.

@@AdituLaudisMMXXI True, the Normans did used it to more effect but the Anglo-Saxons played into their hands by chasing them down instead of staying put and absorb the attacks.

The Britons did not speak English. The English language was not developed yet.
The Saxons and Jutes may of won this battle. But Ambrosius Aurelianus and Arthur Pendragon will Halt them at Badon hill ❤

At Hastings, the Anglo-Saxon army was still exhausted by the battle of Stamford Bridge that had just been fought a couple of days earlier, after which the army had to march the distance to Hastings. William the Conqueror lured the Anglo-Saxon soldiers in an ambush by feigning a retreat of his infantry.

Пикты ниразу не родственны Бриттам. Пикты - изначальное население острова, а Бритты - кельтские мигранты с востока.
