    What are considered extreme temperatures? Since I live and work in Vegas, we get temperatures of up to 115 degrees and sometimes even higher during the summer. I bought my V2 in november of last year, so it hasn’t seen these temperatures yet… my Hiboy S2 Pro saw it’s first summer in 23’ and I never had an issue of it overheating….

    That's all good info. I wish the system would have a configurable voltage stop point for charging, or a configurable voltage alarm. Also, these would be much easier if they reported average cell voltage instead of total voltage. Since total voltage depends upon how many batteries are in the pack, and that varies by model.

    Thank you for your feedback! These are excellent suggestions, and as the software for scooters becomes more sophisticated -- so will the battery and our ability to understand the vehicle's voltage/performance.

    The fact that charging overnight is not recommended is kind of unfortunate. Like with charging a phone, it's usually the most practical time to be charging keep it. Also, most electric cars have an option to set a maximum state of charge by percentage. I feel like this should almost be a necessary feature for both cars and pevs.

    Cars are a lot more expensive. They aren't saying you can't charge to 100%; just that 80% will make it last longer. Solution is to put a mechanical timer on it for overnight.

    I use a floor fan to cool down the battery and motor if they’re hot. Sometimes I’ll use battery powered electric blower. I often feel for the temperature of controller, battery & motor to gauge running behavior while riding. I never top off battery until right before riding. Always maintain charge between 50-75% when not in use. Sometimes closer to 75% if I know I’ll be using bike or scooter the next day etc. This makes for faster “top off” and keeps electron tension moderate. 😁

    tutorial on how to add a voltmeter on certain scooters without one? Example: roadrunner( it only has bars, which is unreliable)

    Noted! So you'd like to see the voltmeter installed on the EMOVE RoadRunner? The RoadRunner Pro has the larger TFT display w/ voltage readout, but that would be a great upgrade for the base RoadRunner.

    I always charge to 100% everytime but only just minutes before riding. Not charging to 100% is the main cause of imbalanced cells. The main goal with scooters etc is to not leave the battery fully charged for to long. You get 500 charges before you loose battery health, and I can guarantee that your scooter will be long sold off before then, and that can take quite a few years.

  • @VoroMotors

    @VoroMotors

    Жыл бұрын

    Correct - we're saying you do not need to regularly charge to 100% before riding. Given that there are different battery configurations/capacities, the life cycle/# of charge cycles will depend on that, how well you've stored and cared for the battery over time, etc. Our models have batteries that are replaceable, so you can extend the lifespan of your scooter (if you don't want to buy a new one every year) 😅

    I think this helped me make my decision not to buy the wolf King gtr scooter. Would have been fun and my first but batteries don't last long and no one talks about after a few years of use. Kinda like an iPhone 8 in today's time. Eventually the battery will be shot.

    Discharging all the way down is very damaging to the battery and has no benefit. That's an outdated practice from back when we used NICAD chemistry batteries, and it has no place with LIION batteries.

    I was ready to pull the trigger on the Apollo Phantom but after watching this, and other videos of these electric lithium-ion batteries exploding and catching fire, I changed my mind. You spend all that cash for what is supposed to be a decent scooter then the battery might explode on you if you over charge? A new battery is super expensive too. Also, even expensive scooters are not waterproof either. You would think for the cash these greedy college entrepreneurs are charging, they would provide electronic overcharging protection, at least. I'll stick to my gas-powered scooter. Cheers.
