    Nice. It really looks like your system will be difficult to expand on inside that server rack. Yeah I can only shove another 10kw in this lil rack unless I take the cells out of the holder and use the black cell holders. I could probly fit a lot more in there. If I had tall ceilings I would of have a few of the tall racks by now as my recycler gets quite a few. Yeah that sounds like a great way of doing it. I guess I could have made some shelves and what not to put the packs on but I thought it would look really cool in a server rack lol. Got your email👍

    Your batteries can be in any size or shape or series and parallel. You just put a longmon on each 3.7v pack then string all the longmon wires up in a series.

    I would bet that even if you put the connectors forward, you would still be able to see the LED's., even if you put the longmons inside the front of the battery packs. Would make it easier to service and the longmon could just sit there with a drop of hot glue under it's front and attached to a cell.

    I did have them all on the front at first but a couple would hit the drawers above them. I thought I broke one the first time I pulled a drawer out. so the long mom drain each of the cells until all the serial cell reach a certain voltage, right. What would happen with a 14S288P, it think this long mom take forever to drain the size of this package

  • @AveRage_Joe

    @AveRage_Joe

    6 жыл бұрын

    Yeah the longmon is a load resistor and will activate based on some preconfigured settings or your own. If the packs are fairly equal in capacity when put together then there isnt really a problem. If the packs are not equal in capacity then sure, it could take a while. You could always put more longmons on if needed. 👍

    I split my battery, so if I have 28 cellmons for a 2P14S battery I make the daisy chain with 14 and parallel the other 14 or make the daisy chain with the 28

  • @AveRage_Joe

    @AveRage_Joe

    6 жыл бұрын

    You would only need 1 cellmon on each series pack on a 2p setup. So 14 in total. I have 100p and only need 1 cellmon on each pack and it does a great job. To be honest the Batrium would be overkill on a 2p setup unless you plan to upgrade/add more cells as time goes on. If each parallel pack is put together with equal capacity cells then 1 cellmon is good on each pack. Does that make since?

    I used to have a 14S288P cells(lgeamf11865), so 288X2.150amp=619amp so I decide to do 2P14s or 2P148S, I think I only have to daisy chain the 28 cellmons

    Oh ok. The Ideal way to use a longmon would be to have one on each parallel pack! Anyway you can make the parallel packs bigger to cut down on using so many longmons would be cheaper!

    Did the Longmons get very hot after initial connection. Everything was looking good until I touched them. I wouldnt expect them to be so hot if the packs are already balanced. I thought this cant be normal so I disconnected everything until I get confirmation.

  • @AveRage_Joe

    @AveRage_Joe

    Yeah they will get hot if there not hooked up to the watchmon. Unless you have them hooked up to the watchmon, if so there is a setting to change the on/off time to help with heat/cool down time.

  • @garryspence4521

    @garryspence4521

    Ok I did connect them to the watchmon but Im sure there are some setting I need to adjust. Just find it odd that out of the box setting would drain the batteries so much. Hello I see your videos very much and I would like to tell you the following: I have 3x (4s p50) a total of 600 cells, I never tested the amperes capacity of any, the only thing I did was load them at 3.5v and see if they drop too much voltage after a few days (4). (and resistance can go up to 125) I do not use bms (anything) then only load them up to 14.5V and unload to 10.8v. (solar system) The cells are used and work very well (a long time) so without straining hard and getting away from the 16.8v limit, will I be crazy? Greetings from Portugal

  • @AveRage_Joe

    @AveRage_Joe

    6 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for Watching! I would say were all a little crazy😉 If you havent done or dont plan to test the cells, I would say keep an eye on the voltage when recharging them. Since you dont know the capacity, some packs will become out of balance and charge faster or slower then others. That can be pretty dangerous if a pack becomes over charged. It could catch fire/explode. Thats where a bms would be extremely important in your case. Even a cheap bms. Did you fuse the cells or put a thin wire on them to act like a fuse? If not I would advise to do so and keep the packs outside just in case.

  • @MotivationExtraMotivacao

    @MotivationExtraMotivacao

    6 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for answering. Yes I put the same glass fuses the same as you use 1A. And in others I put thin wire (gives less work) The voltage of the cells does not exceed 3.7v and the more charged, the more balanced they are (3.7v others at 3.6V at the beginning of the load the differences are larger but then decrease) I'm more afraid of cheap Chinese bms than not using any. I already used this system for more than 5 years in other packages I never had any problem or cells heat up, they are always cold, I want more capacity, together more cells in 4s. Cells at 3.7v are practically 30% of the load I think and I charge them between 15 to 20A And I use the lithium cells in parallel with lead acid and the voltage is very stabilized. I've learned some things with you and I've seen your videos several times. Thank you very much for your advice. I understand the risks of using the 18650. Packages are indoors

    If it gets that hot, don`t place it against any battery case. Buy yourself, a heat-sink, or remove one from an old computer, it has a fan attached to it. You can use both of them, all together. And to convert the voltage for the fan, buy a buck converter. Remove a temperature from an old laptop pack and attach it to your to the longmons.

    14 vs 100 isn't equal enough. do a square root of 1400 instead and go from there. You designed your packs wrong, mon.

    Please AveRageJoe could you PLEASE emphasize the DOWNSIZING of consumer-level electronics!??! I think it would help encourage people to join the cause of going off-grid and being educated about electronics. THANK YOU.

    stop trying to concentrate everything into one place. such as having all six solar panels in the same place on your roof, AveRageJoe. Split the panels, put them at the edges of your roof. Have six independent systems running each application in your home. Guess you don't care to mention that???? wouldn't help your videos since you're locking into the way you're already doing it, which is PART of the PROBLEM.
