Batman understood the pain and regret spidey felt when his parents died but Batman’s regret was unjustified unlike uncle Ben there was nothing Batman could have done to save his parents you could say go another way other than crime alley maybe but how was he supposed to know that at least Pete knew that not stopping that crook was wrong even though he didn’t care although when he did because of the after effects of it was too late

Even the Avengers earnestly Pity him at the back of their minds. Batman found a kindred spirit. Peter feels a deep pain not unlike Bruce. And he succeeds not because of his powers but his will and intellect. I’m not sure if another Marvel hero can relate to him as much.

I appreciate what Bruce said at the end. He has (in a deeper way) a connection with Peter. At the end of it all Peter and Bruce are still ordinary men despite the abilities and genius they both possess. When all the chips are down they will still fight for their fellow man no matter what.

Indeed. The only reason Spider-Man is one of my top heroes and Batman isn't is because I am drawn to bright, light bringing heroes. Bats does a great job and fills an important role, but Peter's consistent hope and optimism speaks more to me. If in danger, I would trust both. And that isn't always something you can say about darker heroes like Batman.

@@timothywashburn8218They very much have a common thread. They both seek to serve others so that no one ever has to feel the pain they’ve felt, even if they know there is only so much they can do. One does it from the darkness. One does it from the light. It’s one of the things that annoys me about when they try to make Batman Grimdark, removing all the elements that make him compassionate and human. A quote from Red on OSP really sums it up for me. “Can you imagine your Batman comforting a scared child? If yes, congratulations. That’s a genuine Batman. If no, you haven’t written Batman, you’ve written Punisher with a funny hat.”

That Spiderman and Batman crossover was so much fun. Batman did the whole 'stay out of my city' with a dash of 'you're kinda annoying' that you'd expect but there was real respect by the end.

I'm pretty sure Tim - or some other witty member of the Bat family - is the one who makes the contingency plan slides for Bruce by now, lol

He could also trick Spiderman or Peter. Fill up a can of spray paint with it and when Peter went to use it he weakens himself.

Don't forget toughness; his bones are semi-chitin, making them almost as tough as steel. He also has a minor healing factor, able to recover from anything short of broken bones, missing organs, or other extreme trauma overnight; Rhino once (and only once) managed to break Spider-Man's arm, and although he was apprehended Rhino was in extremely high spirits over this accomplishment. It only took a week or two to heal.

Spidey would be Batman's straight man. They'd be the best of friends.

Well, Spider-Man is Batman’s comic counterpart as a more darker side and they have trickster supervillains such as the joker and the green goblin. Also, trained teen protégés like miles morales and Tim Drake, have parental figures, master fighters, gadget makers, etc.

I'm not gonna lie whenever someone says with Great-Power comes great responsibility and they say what they chest, and they sound really sincere. It makes me want to cry. I don't know why but I think it's really sweet and special.

The contingencies are intended to be used if the character becomes a threat. If Spider-Man started robbing people or working for a crime boss (he did get brainwashed by Mr. Negative for a bit) then he doesn't have to worry about money any more.

Almost entirely correct. Set him up financially and he will have no complaint - as long as it doesn't interfere with his morals. Then again, Batman is much more likely to fight a Spider-Man who has abandoned his moral code than a regular 'Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man'.

i love how Batman would definitely feel bad for writing a contingency plan against a teenager with a very similar thing to him. becoming a vigilante after his loved one died. granted Batman had no powers granted (unless you count his parent's inheritance) but they still have very similar moral codes Batman is far more trained by Spiderman is far more powerful, also i made like 169. nice

Spiderman is pretty dangerous when he gets serious. Good thing he has a heart.

Hmm, I don't know about the chloride, but Spidey got his spider sense buzzed for a while due to the Morbius effect. It gave him a constant mild migraine. Also, sending a false message is a sure fire way to get on Peter's bad side. Lastly, I think Batman would have a hard time fighting Spider-Man on the basis that, for all the martial arts he knows, it's almost impossible to match the natural form of Spider-Man due to the sense.

For one, he used a suit that slowly kills him if he wears it too long, for two, he got some hits in, but at the end of the day, Darkseid didn't really care. As for having no limits, Batman himself has said he has limits. By your own logic, Spider-Man is a living ideology as well. Batman is not stupid, he knows his own limits. It's the reason he has these plans. He knows that without preparation, he doesn't have a chance. He is not perfect. He has said if Clark wanted to, he could smash him into the ground. He's said Wonder Woman is a better fighter, Lex Luthor is smarter, Cyborg is a better hacker, and John Constantine is a better planner, and he's right.

And Batman has many versions some say he has limits some don't, that applies to the writers. Batman is the only human to dodge Darkseid's Omega beams and not buckle to him, he got Darkseid to stand down and I'm referring to the special gun Batman had made to kill Darkseid. Batman in the lore is a symbol, Batman is the hero born from the trauma of of a boy who lost his parents in that alley. A protector to ensure no boy ever goes through that again. Bruce Wayne does NOT exist, he died with his parents, and Batman is the real personality. Even when held by wonder womans lasso and asked who are you really, he answers with Batman. The body of Bruce Wayne is just he skeleton under the suit. Spiderman is just Peter Parker, a kid trying to be a super hero and save people and have a normal life to. He is not the same as Batman. Batman is ALWAYS Batman. Even when out as "Bruce" that's a disguise.

A common lighter. Seriously, Spider beat Venom once by a random guy throwing Spider-Man his lighter and turning it on. Venom freaked out and ran like hell.

I'd love to see this done again, except from the perspective that Batman doesn't know Spider-man's true identity and wasn't able to get samples of his webbing (it doesn't make sense that Batman could easily isolate the webbing and get it to a lab quickly enough to develop a counter compound given how quickly it dissolves - it's a bit of a plot hole that's handwaved too hard IMO). This one wasn't your best work so far - it assumes Batman already knows a *ton* about who Spider-man is and how his powers work, when in typical scenarios, one of Spider-man's biggest advantages (and sources of conflict in his stories) is his anonymity. Still, loving these. Keep doing these! :D

All of these are done from the view of an outside observer, so it makes sense to me. That said, if Batman didn't know at first encounter, I feel he would help the Webhead upon learning how similar they are to each other. They function as very similar characters with very different foundations and environments.

This is actually genius, using a chemical catalyst to hyperdissolve his webbing, using insecticide to mitigate his strength (and therefore agility) and using a ddos attack on his spider sense

The funny thing is? Some comics have the Joker aware he lives in a comic book and one of the reasons he does what he does is because he knows the people he's killing aren't real. He's basically a more evil Deadpool.

This contingency plan made me REALLY want to see a Batman/Spiderman crossover! I doubt DC and Marvel would ever let that happen, but it would be amazing.

Batman‘s next contingency plan should be about Ryuko from kill la kill.

Between Peter's Spider Sense, super-human reflexes, & his phenomenal speed (greater than human, BTW) he's been known to literally dodge lightning strikes...Not only those generated by Electro but more naturally-occurring lightning which has *less* predictable timing & direction/aim than the lightning generated by a person. Even a virtual wall of bullets is something he can avoid, as long as there's still enough space between individual bullets that will allow for him to fit his own body parts through the spaces. Even so, area-effect attacks such as explosions are quite a bit more difficult...He needs to be able to jump out of the effected *area* to dodge that.

Spiderman is one of the strongest and smartest person in the Marvel Universe and hea consistently holds back...we know what he can do when he stops holding back

Peter could’ve been another Robin under certain circumstances

The comment at the end really shined a light on something that I didn’t think about. It really explains why I like both of these heroes so much.

Kraven is generally just a near peak human, but is able to stand toe to toe with Spiderman through a series of potions/serums that either weaken Spidey's powers or enhance his own strength. I suspect batman would adopt a similar strategy. By studying Spidey' past fights, he'd be able to identify Spidey's weaknesses like Ethyl Chloride. Also given that one of Batman big things is using fear against his enemies, I suspect he would find a way to push Spidey Spider-Sense into overdrive, making him react to threats that didn't exist, allowing Bats to slip through his radar and stop him .

I've watched a handful of these, but something about The Batman researching Spidey and coming to the conclusion that they walk the same path in their heroism, with the same motivations and moral boundaries, idk it made me feel something deep in my soul

I've read a lot of what-ifs, and the most popular way to improve Peter as Spider-Man is to either put on the path to making a Batman utility belt or have him learn from a Batman like figure. So the fact that Bats doesn't outright say he approves of Spidy is underwhelming, despite it being in character.

You know which Arkham Rogue Spider-Man would be the absolute worst nightmare for? The Joker. Think about it: Spider-Man's fighting style also involves a huge amount of talking and taunting (his quick wit that Batman mentions) to get inside his opponent's head and make them get careless. And that is actually the PERFECT way to counter Joker: Because Joker is so vain and likes to talk so much, his biggest weakness is when his own strategy is used against him. Terry McGinnis used this exact same strategy in Batman Beyond.

Nothing angers or annoys Joker more is someone that is funnier than him. Spiderman will absolutely make a joke out of him and not taking Joker's taunts seriously

I feel like Batman and Spider-Man would get along pretty well, considering the similar paths that got them into the whole vigilante thing. Plus they're both very intelligent and can create their own gadgets to help with their crime fighting. It's things like this that make me wish sometimes they weren't from different companies, because it'd be fun to see them interact :)
