Yeah but he isn't a DC character, so he's weak since he can't bench press a tank as a non-suped human. Because after all "what kind of normal human can't bench press several tons?" Is the logic Batman and DC runs off of for their main cast, while a normal civilian of course is lucky to be able to bench press 20 lbs.

Additionally, he slammed Starline around like he's nothing. He even managed to destroy a wall of ice screen with his punch. Eggman is considered a power type in Sonic Riders games and it's a class of characters that can destroy obstacles on track like cars. Not only he's fast, he's also inhumanly strong.

“He lacks physical strength.” I see someone forgot to consult Dr Starline.

Batman doesn’t realize that Eggman knows how the simple solutions could easily defeat Sonic. He just doesn’t do that out of pride, a desire to best Sonic with his brilliance rather than something so obvious or dull. Eggman loves to make a spectacle.

Eggman's pride proved to be his undoing in Episode 41 of Sonic X when he made the wrong answer regarding Sonic's question of who was the coolest guy around. The correct answer was Sonic himself, but Eggman couldn't bring himself to swallow his pride to ensure a getaway since the quiz Chris Thorndike, Miles "Tails" Prower, Amy Rose, and Sonic the Hedgehog had laid out was intended to make Eggman go where THEY wanted him to go.

Additionally, in the IDW comics Eggman caused a "ZomBOT" apocalypse because he was certeain that that the Metal Virus will work as intentended and would not grow beyond his control. Which was totally not the case, at firt he was capable of controling the Zombots, but eventually the virus mutated and he lost the ability issue commands to the Zombots, making them an threat to himself. To make matters worse, Eggman didn't even bother to create a vaccine or cure for this virus, as he saw it as a vulnerability, and while this could have been used agaisnt him, the lack of a cure or vaccine meant that, when thing inevitably went south, he had no way to stop the virus or to protect himself from it.

@@filippohl9097it’s probably not as simple as he makes it out to be since he already tried carpet bombing Sonic back in Sonic 3 and it failed. That’s not saying he hasn’t had moments where he could’ve killed Sonic but it still few and far between.

Eggman definitely has super strength considering what he did to Dr Starline in the Idw comics and what he did to the Ice in Sonic Lost World. I genuinely think Eggman would be a threatening physical fighter if he had an athletic build

It’s a decent strategy, but it neglects to consider Eggman also doing his own research or contingencies. If this is a blind confrontation, it makes sense he’d underestimate a regular human. But considering his tech, I think he has the potential to counter hack batman. The final thing I want to note is his strength, which was seemingly dismissed as regular human strength. We’ve seen Eggman with no tech, body the likes of Starline who could shatter metal with spin dashes. I think batman with more observance and planning, studying how Eggman’s systems work, he could win against him as long as Eggman would be going into the fight blind.

Yeah, for real. Everyone laughs Eggman off as a joke because he keeps losing, but they forget that the reason he loses is because his opponent is a super speed Hedgehog who breaks the sound barrier and fights Aliens, monsters, and a few creatures that could be considered gods. Eggman is the only threat to fight this Hedgehog and routinely come back for more, armed only with his machines, his ingenuity, and an apparently very effective workout routine. And Sonic is canonically tho only one who can stop him in the long term. Sure, his friends can get some wins over on him and hold him at bay, but eventually, Eggman will adapt and overwhelm them. Sonic is literally the only one he can't seem to plan for. TLDR: Don't underestimate him just because he seems a little goofy; you do not want to get caught slipping by Dr. Eggman.

Also refuting the mention of his overconfidence, while Eggman very often employ grandiose plans, it doesn't mean he can't employ a simpler, more straightforward approach. He just does not because he finds them dull and he kind of treats his rivalry with Sonic as a game. In the few times that Eggman drops the silliness, he very quickly shows the person who just pissed him off how much of a genius he is.

In all honesty the only contingency plan Batman should have against eggman is either phoning up Sonic or Supes while only giving them technical support.

Not only that, in quite a few comics, Eggman has fought Sonic and other Mobians hand-to-hand, and a lot of times nearly won. Guy can throw hands with Knuckles. As mentioned elsewhere, the thing that holds Eggman back more than anything is he views his schemes and rivalry with Sonic as a game. When someone else comes in a tries to ruin it, Eggman gets scarily competent.

The dude is NOT helpless without his machines. Being able to outrun Sonic is a recurring gag in the video games, even being featured in Sonic Adventure 2 when you visit the Chao Garden outside of his battle walker. Not only that, but in the comic series when he's battling Starline, the guy delivers a stomp powerful enough to crack the stone beneath his feet!

Technically Eggman is not incapable of physically fighting, but if he were to try to fight Batman in a fist fight, yeah he’d be f**ked.

Why does Batman keep forgetting about this thing call EMP Shielding?

Amusingly enough Eggman has actually turned into a good guy in more then a few universes which often led to him going into retirement and becoming a very well respected individual. If a bit eccentric.

Eggman is a great scientist. Can be arrogant sometimes. According to the comics he's able to throw some heavy punches and he outsmarted a guy who was his apprentice.

Honestly there's no prison that could hold eggman. If he can escape literal universes, what good is a cell in Arkham going to do? He would definitely be a formidable villain in Batman's rogue gallery.

One more thing would be needed if Batman DID manage to capture Eggman. That being the means to prevent escape attempts from either prison or Arkham Asylum, depending on where he ends up. Reason for the preventative measure is tied back to the Sonic X anime. He tried to use Emerl to cause a jailbreak after he got busted when his "get rick quick" scheme got exposed and subsequently thwarted. While that plan failed, one of his robots managed to pull off the jailbreak while Station Square was preoccupied with Eggman's diversionary operation. While the diversionary operation was partly the fault of the prison by allowing him the opportunity to work with machines, it proves that if Eggman gains access to any type of technology, he can orchestrate an escape from confinement either directly or by distracting the guards long enough to move a different escape plan along.

By going to their level and winning, he's proven that he is far beyond them, even when he isn't trying his hardest. Eggman has even stated that if he did actually try to win, he would've won a long time ago. "lacks physical strength" he's actually very strong, he's even gotten hands on with several characters and overwhelmed them. he just prefers not to dirty his hands. or at the very least, he avoids getting physical to not risk his hands. honestly batman vs eggman would be a spectacle i can't even imagine, both of them would be playing 4d chess, trying to outmanuever every single contingency the other may have. it'd be awesome
