It is good to raise young snails in the soil because they burrow into the soil and sleep. For snails that have grown to a certain level, it is okay to raise them on a moss mat like I did.

Yes, they need soil! Even adult snails like to burrow into soil. The snails no matter what species need at least two friends of the same species and a large terrarium which is approximately 120x50x40 cm.
