Great work! I can’t believe those walls do not have 3D texturing because it sure looks like it. This set takes a lot of criticism, but if I were a kid in the sixties and saw this in toy aisle, I would’ve been over the moon! Especially if I also got the Batmobile and figures. I think you’re correct in that they were going for a ‘60’s-era toy vibe. For comparison, you might be interested in the playsets offered by the Ideal toy company. They were completely out of scale, and the computers etc in the Batcave were made of vinyl-covered cardboard. But somehow it worked strictly as a toy.
Wow, this is pretty cool from what you started out with to the finished product. And I just got mine on January 12 and have been looking for a way to make it look more better than what it came with. Thanks for the video this is fantastic. ❤
WOW! Beautiful work!!
Great video have the same set myself and was looking to achieve a similar effect too. Thanks for the inspiration. Might borrow an idea or two from you for mine if that’s ok.
You did a fantastic job great video !!
What's this?!! Can it be? You made a cardboard box, Batcave, for your Mego Pocket Heroes as a boy, too?!! Egads, I thought that I was the only one. Lol I totally agree that this MacFarlane Batcave leaves a lot to be desired, but it's definitely great raw material for building a nice display. I painted the railings green and the uprights with the 3 hole perforations as well as the ladder, silver, on my Atomic Pile. I also used some aluminum foil tape and added the banding to the main 2 silver uprights on it, too. I had no idea that the Atomic Pile would glow, though, so that mod is definitely next on my list. Thanks! I display mine with my Mezco 5POA figures and Batmobile so it looks more accurately to scale. I also replaced the horrible MacFarlane Batpoles with the much nicer looking Mezco ones that were included with the set. You've certainly given me some good ideas on how to improve it even further with some cardboard boxes and printed paper. Btw, you're the only other guy besides me that I've seen on the internet who displays his Batcave screen accurately with the 2 big computers with the springs on top next to the Batpoles and the 2 computers with the coffee pot-looking things to the right of the Atomic Pile. Every other reviewer/display, that I have seen has them reversed like the box art on the packaging that it comes in.
This is really great! Thanks for sharing! :-)
My custom improvements can be seen starting at 19:30.
This could make a nice Cobra base for gijoe
that's great what you did,i love it!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Holy crap! Well done!
What’s the dimensions of your shelf? Looks good!
Question would the aurora model kit of the original batmobile be the right scale with the McFarlane bat cave?

If that kit is 1/32 scale (the same as my slot cars), then no. The "computer" accessories that come with McFarlane's Batcave appear to be 1/18 scale, which corresponds to 3 3/4" figures.
I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole myself and have started modifying my MacFarlane Batcave to be a bit more screen accurate for my 3-3/4" Mezco 5 Points figures but I wished that I had thought of using my Super Powers stuff instead... kzread.info/dash/bejne/onl9q9Vwfq-ycrw.htmlsi=xFIK7ZM7K1c8KkW6
