    I'm with on gk but l gig with aguilar or markbass. For me those 2 are easier to dial in what l need. Aguilar for slappin and thumpin, markbass for grooving and if l had the dough and the workload l'd get a tone hammer as it excells at that ooie-gooie-tubie sound. I did not like the markbass until l learned how to use those 2 knobs on the right! Good stuff you got here!

    I have a 2013 Bass Mods that has Bartolini j5 pickups/ John East preamp. That’s my go to bass and it cuts through the mix aggressively. I had it made in 2013 and 2014 Bass Mods 4 String that has Emg 40j pickups/ East j retro deluxe preamp.

    Yeah,...I think BassMods have the Barts with the Bart preamp that's the 5.7 or the 5.1 or 4.6. Which ever one it is, that is another "BEAST" that BassMods have installed in their basses.

    Hey coop i have a question. It might be a stupid one. To gig is it better to have a passive bass or a active.

  • @11coopbasscooper55

    @11coopbasscooper55

    4 жыл бұрын

    Well,...in my opinion and from my experience. Passive basses give a more "SECURE",...less malfunctioning problem. Active basses,...they do give you a more overtone and output sound. But, if the "BATTERY" or "BATTERIES die,...there goes or here comes the malfunctioning problem. Some active basses go into "PASSIVE" mode automatically,...once the battery or batteries die out. Some active basses just shut right off. No sound. Usually a passive Precision bass is the "BOMB!" or a Jazz bass. And, it all depends on what type of music you guys play and what the type of bass sound the song requires. That's about it. Hope this helps you make a decision.

    Facebook has Phil on there with his bass. I think it "BASSMODS UNITED". Now Phil don't get into hard playing, so can't really hear what his PJ bass actually can do. It can kill a herd of "AFRICAN" elephants, two hippos, one cheetah, 4 crocs, a leopard, and a water buffalo. Ha! That bass is too "NASTY". : D

    Why thank you bassman51able. I highly appreciate it. Now, as far as "AMPEG". "AMPEG'S" are good. I definitely agree. Now,...the "TC ELECTRONICS" amp thingy. No!,...No!,...Nooooooo! Straight toys. Don't have the "PHILLY" bottom that we like over here or up here. "GK!" is thee only way. Nothing else. Nah-dah! Been playing them for years and they haven't let this dude down yet. They are so good,...that a bassist came to me and ask; "CAN I PLAY THROUGH YOUR BASS RIG?" Now he had "EDEN" at the time. Go figure that,..."BAT MAN". Lol! He also was using a 6 string "KEN SMITH" at that time as well. So,..."GK!" is it with me. I'm trying to keep them coming. I am so glad you like the basses I use. Now you have some stuff I wish I had too. Now your stuff is great too bruddah! You keep it come too. I got my eyes on you . Thanks. : D

    Sammy,...not at this present time boss. I've been sitting and thinking of what type of bass I would like to create now. Lol! Especially, with the parts I have laying around. My mind is always in the spinning mode, once I finish with a bass project. You understand. Hey,...here's what I do. I go to "CRAIGSLIST, GUITAR CENTER, MUSICGOROUND, REVERB, EBAY,...heck. I'd probably go to "EBAY'S" cousin,...if there was one. Lol! You have to do what I do. I shop "AROUND" bruddah. : D

  • @11coopbasscooper55

    @11coopbasscooper55

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Chris V. Yes,...that is so annoying. Now, let me explain something here. You can really hear it "SIZZLE" because there are no other instruments involved. In your own spare time,...play with some other musicians and turn your treble up. Once the other musicians start playing, you won't hear that "SIZZLE" at all. Now, once yaw stop playing, you might hear it and still not as much. I basically did this so you can hear the difference. That's all. I feel you though.

    I like the clean sound of the snap but, I back the highs down enough that when I play slap style, the sound is even. Fresh strings will give you that snap tone any way so, if I’m going between slap and finger style playing I never have to readjust my eq for either styles.

  • @11coopbasscooper55

    @11coopbasscooper55

    4 жыл бұрын

    Alright,...I totally understand that as well. I just like a "HEAVY" not "STRONG",..."HEAVY!!!!!" cleeeeeeean! tone when I'm gigging with others. When I jump to finger style. I'm gonna be so real with you, it's not even funny. I don't even go to the "BRIDGE" pickup. I stay right in the middle all the way through the song. That's just me. And it also depends on the song. (Smiles).

Trust me. Ha! Oh and by the way,...the video is about "POP and SNAP!". Not the lows and the highs. Read very carefully sometimes my man. :D
