Bass Boat tossed driver without killswitch

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Edit: Please check my second video (on my page and linked below) on boating safety for more explanation of what happened.
• Boat Responsibly - Alw...
My dad and I were fishing in Toledo Bend in 2018 when this occurred. I bypassed donning my usual safety precautions because I was distracted and it almost cost us our lives. Despite having been on the water my whole life, I didn't truly know how unforgiving the water could be and how quickly things can go wrong. ALWAYS wear your kill switch, life jacket and other PPE and know your equipment! Big thanks to the guys who picked us up that day, they probably saved our lives.

    DISCLAIMER- “NO FISH WERE CAUGHT IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO”

  • @ZZz3rDeYezZZ
    @ZZz3rDeYezZZ2 жыл бұрын

    I saw a boat going in circles like this once and my Dad and I went to check it out. The man went overboard and was drowning with no life jacket and apparently he couldn't swim. Only the tip of his nose was out of the water and his face was under water looking like he was already gone. We grabbed him and pulled him onto our boat, he was still alive but in severe shock thinking he was already a gonner. As we went to take him back to shore I decided to be the hero twice and rescue his boat as it was doing the same circle as this video. I grabbed the rope hanging off the front of his boat once we matched the speed and the guy jumped over and finally got it turned off. What a day I'll never forget. He still calls me every year or so to update me on his life, and thanking his lucky stars we showed up that day.

(already have many times, even back when I was in my teens, from my crazy uncle behind the wheel of his 78’ fiberglass jet boat lol) Have you ever road on a jet ski, on a glassy morning on a coastline. Then as you are turning, run over a seaweed patch? Well, it’s an experience worth having at least once for the thrill of it. I did it once, and I started rally drifting on it. I tested the kill switch 12 times on my first jet ski Rescued it from a pile of skis at a local salvage yard Long story short when I really needed it guess what it failed, good thing I read the service manual and lubed the steering system, as well as set the trolling speed correctly, because jet skis are designed to flop to one side and circle, it did just that, my son began swimming after it, I yelled out no!! Swim away toward a 6’oclock position and let it come to you, this worked perfectly and we were able to recapture the beast, take it home and replace the switch with a new upgraded model, posting in the hopes of saving a life someday like this boater here, thanks for the video!

No more prop blow outs, no skips, etc. I've spent enough time going 65mph in a ranger with my dad to appreciate the amount of boat/prop/center rib and a trim that is fixed position. I also remember being a dumb kid and rambonavyseal rolling out of that ranger with my buddies going 30-35mph. Its like a belly dive on concrete from the 2nd story balcony. Sorry man.
