Totally understand the inclusion of TRI Clarion tips 👍. When I use them on my 7hz Legato they both tame the bass and really open up the soundstage and imaging, so perfect with classical and older jazz recordings with overly rich upright bass. The FR plot looks interesting in the treble. While pretty sensible overall, I can imagine that peak @ 12k helps with air and sparkle to offset the monster bass 😉 …. Just need to find the courage to tell the wife they are a worthwhile financial investment 🤣

I preordered mine last month and cannot wait for them to arrive; shipping in November. I think a small correction here is FatFreq themselves aren’t referring to this as the new Maestro Mini, and see it as a separate product. Comparing the two, I think it’s hard not to think of them as the next evolution, but I do wonder if we’re going to see another Maestro Mini down the road.

Timmy is not exactly wrong. It was called the MMV2 when i tried their first prototype last year, pretty hyped up on headfi too. You’re right that the motif has since evolved. They really took it to a whole new level with the Scarlet.

Could you give an estimate on the nozzle size? After trying the Truthear Zero:Red I found out I have small ear canals and IEMs with large diameter nozzles don’t seal well and are uncomfortable Moondrop Starfields feet well tho

It’s tuned much better than Legato, the bass is much better and strangely it doesn’t bury the treble like Legato.

@@colddish I wasn't looking for details in the Legato anyway, just wanted to see if I was a basshead or not. Now I know I prefer the punch and slam, with just enough subbass rumble... Basshead IEMs are just too overpowering in the subbass which becomes fatiguing very quickly for me. Looking at the Z1R and 64 U4s which seems to fit my bass preferences.

I like it a lot. I have the clear and the mini. I respect Timmy but he's not a basshead. That's more HBBs wheelhouse. It's def WAY better built than KZ and if you want a more balanced sound there's the 41T. Plus it's 50$ not 10x that

The rinko is nowhere near being a bass cannon nor is it any good at all. I say this as a bass lover myself, the rinko is likely the worst iem I have ever heard, super poor quality drivers and just bloated poorly implemented bass. It makes cheapo bass boosted iems like the kz zsn pro x sound like 300$ iems in comparison.
