    FiiO K9 Pro ESS is a great product, and it was my second amplifier after THX Onyx. FiiO K9 Pro ESS gave me the emotions of listening to music, games and movies, but FiiO K19 is already a new level of sound, and after FiiO K19 you don't want to listen to FiiO K9 Pro ESS anymore. The FiiO K9 Pro ESS after the FiiO K19 has loud and synthetic low and high frequencies, while the mid frequencies are distant. There is no energy, powerful, balanced bass. FiiO K19 sounds natural, balanced, powerful, beautiful, and there are no loud frequencies. The high resolution of sounds provides high intelligibility of sounds, sounds have become closer to the ear, and you can listen to music, games at a low volume, and the sounds will be perfectly heard clearly and clearly, which the FiiO K9 Pro ESS could not provide.

    I will add information about why the GND/LIFT switch is needed, which was not mentioned in the video. GND / LIFT is used to switch the ground connection of the printed circuit board and the external enclosure. When switching to GND, the PCB is connected to the external enclosure. When switching to LIFT, the printed circuit board and the external enclosure are disconnected. Used to optimize the connection between two devices due to common ground loop interference. This is very important if you have spurious interference in the electrical circuit with a frequency of 50/100 Hz, which can negatively affect the sound of the FiiO K19, you will hear noises. If you hear noises instead of dead silence, then there is an earth loop in the electrical circuit or some device emits parasitic signals, switch to the LIFT position. It is also not recommended to connect FiiO K19 to a linear interactive UPS with an approximated sinusoid output, but only to a UPS with a pure sine output. The line-interactive UPS also introduces noise if GND is enabled. C Online UPS with double conversion and pure sine, the FiiO K19 has no noise in the GND position.

  • @aaronfriedman8201

    @aaronfriedman8201

    I have both the A26 DAC and the matching H26 head Amp. Both are smooth and clean sounding. Together they cover one for all headphones. The DAC has analog attenuation as well as HeadAmp which has a low and high setting. For IEMs I use the attenuation on the Dac and use the headamp on the Low setting. For over ears headphones on the Dac attenuation is off. On the head amp Low setting will provide least distortion. So far I have not needed to use high. The one thing I love about the K19 is the 31 band PEQ. I use a separate box minidsp studio where I do EQ for the different headphones. The studio has a 10 channel PEQ. However a 31 Eq sounds amazing. If it works in 32 bit 96khz domain as the minidsp studio it can be of high quality too. I did AB it compared to the S17 Pro the reviewer uses. I found the S17 Pro to sound lush but really dirty compared to the H26. I also found the S17 to sound big in the expense of staging. Also you can fry an egg on the S17 Pro. It gets crazy Hot. Hence I sold the S17 and kept the H26. I figured it is easier to live with it in the long run. Everything is always a balancing act.

    @@aaronfriedman8201 thanks a lot for sharing Aaron. I guess your A26 may influence your H26 for the overall solid staging capabilities. I also have a H26 amp and just wanted to hear other peoples opinions as there are hardly any reviews of it. I can echo your thoughts about your H26, except for my DAC...I have a "mid tier" Gustard X18. I have great staging/smoothness with these 2 when listening to my XTC2 Open and Meze 109 Pro headphones.

    Not this year. Apparently in 2025 they're going to release a successor for the K7 and that one might have AKM processors. The K19 is the "successor" of the K9 while the K11 was successor to the K5 Pro. Apparently there is a K11 R2R in the works because they aim to move to produce R2R units in the future and they want to start from affordable units to test the waters.

    I listened to devices with AKM and ESS. I prefer ESS. It seems to me that the FiiO is not put in the FiiO K19 AKM DAC for the reason that the ESS is more versatile and better suited for games, movies and music because of the balanced and even sound that the AKM does not have. AKM has a bias towards musical sound and is poorly suited for computer games. FiiO K19 is aimed at a wide range, needs for different content and a wide range of headphones. I don't like the sound of AKM. The sound of the AK4499EQ (Topping DX9) is muted, but bright and sharp. There is a lack of clarity. The sound is unbalanced. It seems to be a high resolution sound, but the sounds are not heard close and clearly. The sound is given in width, not in depth. I really like the ESS9039Pro. The sound of the ESS9039Pro is clear, clear, soft, detailed and deep. Thanks to the high resolution, the sounds are heard closer, clearer and more legible. The sound is heard more in depth than in width.

    Which is better, mobile or desktop video card Nvidia 4080 (Nvidia 4080 mobile vs 4080 laptop)? Also with audio equipment. The FiiO Q7 mobile player has a different task-to provide high-quality sound on the road, but it is not intended for critical listening or professional use. On the road, you won't have to listen to the analytical quality and detail of the sound. The FiiO K19 is designed for home use and offers higher sound quality through the use of more advanced components. FiiO K19 is able to reveal all the details of sound and provide powerful sound reproduction even when using complex headphones. The FiiO website has Frequency response curve graphs for FiiO K19 and FiiO Q7, and the FiiO Q7 has a worse signal, but the FiiO K19 has a flat one. The FiiO Q7 will not be able to deliver powerful, energetic and very clear sound in the way that the FiiO K19 does, for the reason that the FiiO Q7 does not have as many capacitors, does not have as many op amps, does not have a built-in power supply as the FiiO K19, and the FiiO Q7 costs ESS9038Pro, while the FiiO K19 - ESS9039Pro. Since the FiiO Q7 is a replacement for the FiiO M17, it sounds at the level of the FiiO K9, but it doesn't reach the level of the FiiO K19. These are completely different devices with different sound levels.

    Why doesn't anyone talk about Fast, Slow, Apodizing, Mini, Mini Slow, Hybrid Fast, Brick Wall filters? I get the feeling that bloggers don't know about these filters or don't hear the difference. The difference is very clearly audible with different filters. I can hear this difference in HiFiMan Arya Organic through the 4.4 mm balanced connection. Fast - The sound is brighter and richer. Suitable for genres where energy and dynamism are important, such as rock, pop, and electronic music. Slow - The sound is comfortable, less detailed and with increased bass. Suitable for those who prefer a warmer and softer sound. Apodizing - The sound is balanced, natural and detailed. Suitable for those who prefer clarity and precision of sound. Mini - The sound is soft and less saturated. It is suitable for listening to calm music or movies, where the overall mood is more important than small details. Mini Slow - The sound is soft, less saturated, but with rich low frequencies. It is suitable for lovers of relaxation or those who prefer music with a rich bass, but without excessive aggressiveness. Hybrid Fast - The sound is brighter, richer with increased detail. Suitable for genres that require high detail and energy, such as hip-hop, R&B, or modern electronica. Brick Wall - Detailed sound with rich high frequencies. It is suitable for genres where clarity and detail in vocals and instrumental parts are important, such as pop, rock, or some types of electronic music.

    Lead_Foot - Which filter pair are we talking about? Could you share your opinion? By the way, in the technical documentation of ESS9039PRO in the "Filters" section there are characteristics. Total of 7 filters: Minimum Phase, Linear Phase Apodizing, Linear Phase Fast Roll-off, Linear Phase Slow Roll-off, Minimum Phase Fast Roll-off, Minimum Phase Slow Roll-off, Minimum Phase Slow Roll-off Low Dispersion. FiiO named these filters in its own way. We look at the Stop Band parameter and the indicators. 1) The Minimum Phase Stop Band filter has the value (- 97dB) 2) The Linear Phase Apodizing Stop Band Filter has the value (-107dB) 3) The Linear Phase Fast Roll-off Stop Band Filter has the value (-118dB) 4) The Linear Phase Slow Roll-off Stop Band filter has the value (-84dB) 5) The Minimum Phase Fast Roll-off Stop Band Filter has the value (-99dB) 6) The Minimum Phase Slow Roll-off Stop Band filter has the value (-84dB) 7) The Minimum Phase Filter Slow Roll-off Low Dispersion Stop Band is set to (-84dB) The Stop Band determines which frequencies will be filtered out or allowed to pass through the filter. This parameter is measured in decibels (dB) and indicates the depth of suppression of unwanted frequencies outside the filter's operating range. The depth of suppression, expressed in decibels, allows you to evaluate the effectiveness of the filter in reflecting unwanted noise and distortion. The level of suppression in Stop Band directly affects the nature of the sound we hear. Filters with a higher level of suppression in Stop Band are able to effectively eliminate high-frequency components that can give the sound aggressiveness or rigidity. This results in a softer and smoother sound, especially in the higher frequencies, making the acoustics more pleasant and comfortable for the listener. On the other hand, low-level filters in the Stop Band have less impact on frequency transmission, which can lead to the preservation of some high frequencies, despite their potential undesirability. This may add some brightness or sharpness to the sound, but it also increases the likelihood of unwanted distortion and noise.
