My sister and brother-in-law were married in San Francisco, California and local Basque dancers surprised them after the ceremony with an aurresku, a traditional Basque dance reserved for special occasions. The dance is meant as a tribute or way of honoring important people, and as such is usually only performed at weddings, grand openings, and other solemn occasions. A beautiful way of celebrating Basque culture in the United States. August 22, 2020.
