If I recall correctly, BASN has a background in stage monitor IEMs, offering relatively low-priced alternative to customs. It makes sense they focus on long-term comfort and low weight. The only that that put me off the brand was questionable tuning, not that balanced, but if they can tune better I will definitely put this on my radar.

The mixPD really looks like a KZ iem. For 80 bucks where Whizzer HE10,Moondrop Aria 2 and Titan S2 is,it should be a little better there.

I took at look at BASN Bmaster5 - they're an ok 1DD4BA and cheap on eBay used. Not much in terms of reviews from the mainstream reviewers. BASN has a good packaging system - so I wonder if they skimp on the actual drivers and tuning.

If I read and correctly see the exploded construction view of this IEM's internals, it seems that they refer only once to a "planar diaphragm driver". From the rest of the advertisement, they simply call it a planar driver. From the looks of this particular driver, it does not appear to be a planar, per se. More like a marketing play on words to describe a custom driver with claimed wide sound stage, low distortion. Maybe I incorrectly interpreted the documentation, but something seems off to me on BASN's messaging.

Resolution is not everything. What makes Origin special is the balance of so many things done right. Even many later model KZ offers very good resolution

A bit bassier yes, but Nightingale remains supreme with absolute analog velvety smooth timbre and a bit more of resolution overall, and richer sounding too

Worth learning that the English "bass" has two different pronunciations. The short "a" refers to a type of tasty fish vs. long "a" is for the low frequency audio.
