Collectors choice was usually a low end product. The 1996-97 product was really good for the NBA. Really reminds me of that iconic SLAM magazine cover. Lots of these cards were printed and they were cheap to purchase and rip at the time. But I do think these have aged extremely well and this set while maybe never over the moon will be more sought after.

Completely agree. I think the over printing and cheap price is what led me to them though, honestly. I was in junior high then, so it was one of the few sets I could afford a whole box. I will never forget pulling a Gold version of the Jordan/Penny/Shawn Kemp Mini-Card. Probably goes for about $10 today, but to me, it was like winning the lottery. Still had the thrill of the chase without spending a fortune. I didn't make the connection with that SLAM magazine cover. That's a great connection.
