5:55 “77 isn’t that amazing..”. Prunella Scales now 91!
The fact that its still funny after all these years , just shows how well it was written and performed
Brilliant - I do not think this series (all 12) will ever be beaten by anything. Sorry to see the note about Spencer, been there mate, and life does get better, honest.
My favorite episode. It shows how comedy can be like music. It’s beautifully structured like a symphony. It begins by gently laying down the individual themes and plots, then it starts weaving them together, masterfully building tension as it escalates into multiple comedic climaxes, each one more explosive than the previous. The tension finally reaches breaking point, and culminates in a spectacular crescendo. Very well planned and thought through. Not a scene is wasted, and every single spoken sentence has a purpose in setting up a future joke, furthering a plot device, or defining a character. A masterclass.

A brilliant comment/synopsis! My thoughts precisely. You are a star!
The difference between American comedy and UK, is you like a hero that always comes good, and we like an underdog that can never quite make it. Self depreciation at it's best. Same as only fools. You root for them, but they just never can make it.
Because we brits love the banter and generally abuse eachother in day to day conversations our humour is naturally quick witted, you have to be or you'll get slaughtered daily lol.
‘Rancorous coiffured old sow’ is one of the greatest insults in Television history
This truly is the epitome of comedy writing and acting.
John cleese is a British treasure, he's written so many cult classics like The life of brian / the meaning of life / the holy grail / as well as fawlty towers & others too, along with the rest of the monty python team.
Sorry to hear about your problems, Spencer. Hang in on there, mate.
“I'm fed up with you, you rancorous, coiffured old sow!" LMAO!!! BEST LINE EVER!
The best comedy episode I've ever seen. Basil is completely insane but you end up wanting him to win, because there's a little bit of Basil in all of us.
You have my complete understanding Spencer, as a veteran of two ex-marriages.
"The BT Speaking Clock has been ticking 24-hours a day, seven days a week since 24th July 1936 and is now over eighty years old! The service was initially only available in the London directory area and was rolled out nationwide in 1942".
Don't worry about making do with what's available to you. I think we're all just happy to have the content.
its a masterpiece of a comedy. everytime i watch it, i see or hear or notice something I'd never seen before. Just like the original The Office UK or Only Fools and Horses, there's something magic about the comedy, style, era, characters. Super relatable but super original. I never get bored of them, and Ive owned them all on VHS DVD BLUE RAY. Pure joy.
Keep your head up Spencer. Shit happens in life. You gotta learn from bad experiences and keep calm and carry on
Don’t worry about the bit at the beginning guys. Hope all is well! I do think the two mini-screens with you guys in could be a bit bigger though

Sorry to hear that Spencer. Hope everithing goes well for you. Hang in there. I love your chanell and your content. But i understand if you guys have to take a brake to mend things. All the love from Andorra. You guys are worldwide. Be proud of that.👍👍
The red-headed lady Doctor is the mother of the woman who plays Kevin's mum in Harry Enfileds Kevin and Perry.
I think John and Connie spent six to eight weeks writing every episode. It shows. Every single situation and line of dialogue has been honed to perfection.
I remember my university days, a beautiful coed was studying psychology. Being only 17 at the time, I thought she could read my mind or body language. It was off-putting. Hugs Spencer. Every relationship even the electronic ones like ours, is an opportunity to learn from the other. Sometimes it’s better to not associate with the other. Sometimes the other doesn’t want a relationship. All this can be a learning experience. Does the other have issues that limit the relationship, if so they can make changes if they choose to, but you cannot change them . Do you have issues that limit the relationship, if so you can choose to improve yourself, it’s your choice. As Bill Burr says relationships fail about half the time, so don’t think you are a loser. You are just human. ❤️
This is the very best episode of Flowery Twats.
Guaranteed tears of laughter every time cant wait for u to see waldorf salad episode
I love you two. Don’t worry about any tech glitches, we’re with you both. Spencer, big hugs, you are loved😌 Omg I love Fawlty Towers. 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your appreciation of the brilliance of this classic is much appreciated ❤
This episode goes so far beyond cringe. It's a symphony of suffering. Glad you enjoyed it!
You guys need to know that at that time, and even now, most Brits haven't ever been to a psychiatrist, we just don't do therapy... so Basil's panic is a bit more normal, he wouldn't know much about the subject.
Basil just doesn’t know when to give up.
I think that you two would like "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" from the 80's and 90's.
My wife didn't see how you could manage it all!

A brilliant episode.
Basil was the original 'Mr Cringe' long before 'The Office' was invented.
The writing and unfolding of events on this episode is a masterpiece

It's known in English as that, too
All the best Spencer, brand new chapter in your life full of incredible opportunities
The problem with people wanting to bring these shows back is what made them so iconic was the acter playing them. John Cleese as Basil or Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder. Even if you managed to replicate the writing your unlikely to capture that lightning in a new bottle without those actors.
all the best to Spencer
Basil falling through the door was indeed similar to Delboy's fall through the bar - although Delboy was trying to "play it cool, Trig" to the yuppy chicks so it was a diff situo.
Shout-out Spencer. Chin up man!
If they "bring back" Blackadder it won't be anything like the original. The original was developed by a group of incredibly talented comedians/writers who were all at the top of their game. Blackadder was also of it's time - the flavour of the comedy would be different in 2023. SPENCER! Sending you positive vibes, hang on in there, this too shall pass. x :)
I think this is the one when you finally realise that there is not always a resolution in comedy. British comedy is famous for this. It's always about the downtrodden, poor bastard that never manages to achieve his aim. Resolution would mean the end!!!
He was checking the cigarette butts in the ashtray for lipstick. He suspects the guy has a girl in his room (he did).
Wishing you all the best Spencer❤you are Not alone!!!!
Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist aught to have his head examined. 😂
Your reactions are putting the biggest smile on my face! :D
Spencer, on the one hand, I want to say sorry your relationship split up. On the other hand, I want to say congratulations for moving on if the relationship wasn't working for both of you. Anyway, hope you are doing well. Love to watch the reactions and hear the commentary banter between you and Daniel.
I have been blessed, or cursed, with a quick wit... Things just come out of my mouth without me really thinking about it. And there's a good 50/50 chance people will laugh or be terribly offended. The worst part is I can't control it. For example - I was recently at the dentist having a filling replaced and the dentist was a quite attractive young woman and she asked if her younger 19 year old, sister could be present as she was wanting to become a dentist. It was a family business. Any way, just before she starts she says "If you feel too much pain then put your hand up". And without thinking I replied "My hand up which one of you?". Luckily they laughed and giggled and I gave some half-arsed apology about saying stupid things when I'm nervous.

Fortunately or unfortunately i happen to do the same kinda thing, either people laugh or give me a strange odd look. Whilst having a colonoscopy a while ago they said i can lay on my side on watch it on the screen, i said it looks like the beginning of Dr who & 1 person laughed but the main Dr wasnt impressed.
I would recommend another John Cleese classic A Fish Called Wanda (1988) 😃
I feel like following a previous comment the typo's are now included especially for me, lol. Appreciate you playing the game folks! Keep it up!!
According to Cleese, the long litany given to Sybil to say here as 'things my mother is frightened of' were all genuine - they were just his own mother's! Curious woman, as he describes her, Muriel Cleese - she lived to be 100, and sonny boy mentions her charmingly in his autobiography. On a technical point: the reason the camera suddenly crabs in on Basil after Sybil slams the door in his face, and the reason the studio audience kinda laugh-groan like that, is because the set wobbled (you can see this in the surviving out-takes); such a cock-up would've slowed up progress on the night, and given they were recording a 36-minute episode in not far short of 2 hours, you can imagine the collective tension in the studio! It would've been a decision made in a hurry that night, given there was evidently no way of either stopping the set from moving, or doing it film-style, with an edit taken from another angle, to cover it all up, hence that slightly awkward compromise we get here. The wonders of British TV-making, eh? 😅 Hope y'all are doing well, anyway - hope Spencer's doing better now, for sure. Keep it up, guys - y'all are great! ❤
Just move in together like Bert and Ernie or Felix and Oscar.
The first time I watch this I 15. 1979 was a completely different world to what it now. Some say the 60s 70s 80s comedy was the best people weren't afraid to laugh. I an equalities but there nothing wrong with innocent humour. It's like seeing someone walk in to lamp post or someone getting splashed by a fast moving car, even if it happens to your self you laugh when it someone like bazillion it hilarious
Don't worry Spencer, awesome as always. Stay strong mate.
Another one!Wow!!😊
one of the best...
Spencer "she needs a drink" Me "aww you didn't do father jack drink"
No wonder he’s so nervous he knows he a psych ward escapee.
All basil had to do was say theres a leak and we're checking all the bathrooms, there we go we find the girl and all the commotion ends lol.
This one left me with a headache, its a wonder he didn't blow a fuse.

How would Basil react to if Sybil had an affair ?
Pretty good edits (you're keeping the story)-well done to editor.👏❤️
Never trust anyone asking about Scotland.
Wouldn't you just love a couple of nights at Fawlty towers? {farty towels} . I would lol
Ah kak, sorry to hear that Soencer.
People have been falling in to voids in English comedy for decades
this would be far better if our two gentlemen were not so tiny on screen or the reaction will be hard to notice.
Unfortunately, Andrew Sachs { Manuel) has passed away and Prunella Scales ( Sybil) is battling dementia and Connie Booth retired from acting in the 90`s so I don`t think a remake could do anything but disappoint and John Cleese would probably blow a gasket if he tried any of this kind of thing today.

The thing that is so annoying, is Basil was right. He wasn't trying to grope or peep on anyone. He comes off as a creep, but he is moral uptight conservatives.
To die, to sleep - to sleep, perchance to dream..Basil Fawlty or someone.,
That man with the rhinos tooth is very attractive but because of the era, probably a bit erm...
Ain't it a great show though lads eh?
Where's the dink?
You picked up on the fast whit, this is like exaggerated normal British humor you'd hear down every pub up and down the country. And inside most marriages. We show love by putting your mates down. Just don't put someone who isn't in your circle down, and don't join in with another circle until your fully accepted. You'll get murdered.
Just for the lols you should re-act to the US version of Fawlty Towers it was called Payne it was dreadful.
