Will there be a way to bring my prisoners food directly to their cells? I want supermax to be kept away from others at all times.

I love how it still has the same charm as the first game but I also love how now all my prisons don't have to be in the middle of the wilderness! :)

"same charm" meanwhile completely ruining the original style of the game. This is not a game to be hopeful of. Paradox failed with Cities skylines 2, and they will fail with Prison architect 2. Do NOT preorder, actually never preorder something.

I don't like the Intake process... seems silly to have prisoners just waiting around outside on the grass. The process should be as follows: Escorted by guard(s) from the bus, processed at reception, then taken straight to the holding cell. From there they get picked up by another internal guard(s), searched for contraband, then escorted to a cell. The point of the holding cell would be to cope with the intake bottleneck while waiting for an available guard to carry out the search, and escort prisoners individually to their cell.

Inmates were just left on the grass too in PA1 unless you had a reception where they would be processed there and taken to their cells and not a holding cell 1st unless there’s no space

Holding cell is also important if a prisoner goes up or down in security levels. You might not have enough max security cells if a bunch of medium sec suddenly move into it.

Reception rooms are no longer needed and they were never needed so you can still build a reception room but that is will be the same thing. It won’t make any changes just like the first game. Prisoners still get escorted to their to their cells if you watch the live streams you’d see that I think he’s playing on an older version.

You can place them in buildings if you want to. I simply didn't bother doing it for this tutorial

Years down the line if they decide its worth their time. They will make the community fix PA2 just like PA1.

Yeah it is backed by Paradox but they are the publisher. They pushed this game back to address issues, That in itself is a good sign.

Don't be. Paradox has shown in recent years they don't care about their games. Keep expectations low, and DO NOT PREORDER.

What prison has beds centered in the room like that? They are almost always in the corner.

looks good but - the prison looks too clean and shiny maybe some dirt and damage will make a more accurate depiction or at least texture - maybe create a nice aesthetic font so it doesn't look like word doc font floating in the air - this is a small one but shower drains and flooding - some more real features that were in the first game like death row, gangs and horrible stuff unless you want to make a game for children - I understand people like different styles but the UI looks minimalist and colouful like primary school furniture and its not for me - offices look dull I remember you could fill them up in the first game and they looked fancy - maybe add wall stuff the 2d game had wall stuff (edit it has wall stuff) - in another video I saw stairs without outside railings unrealistic, health and safety violation so maybe this isn't a realistic game and its just a game. but I like realistic games so that's what I always look for in games. - I like how you can see the city and things outside of the prison - admin and punishment system looks good - the detail outdoors and of the fences are good aswel

I would hope a prison just built would look clean. No one likes drains in the first game. Death Row, Gangs were not in the first game at launch The first games UI was minimalist too You can fill the offices here too, just because he didn't doesn't mean you can't The game has wall stuff, there is a video on that already

Don't be. It's going to be either A: just decent upon launch, nothing special. And then a ton of DLC to add basic things into what should be base game. or B: Terrible launch, with DLC that fixes the issues, and adds content, of course with a price tag.

This game seems overwhelming but fun. It’s like the sims just with prison

Is there a road gate in this game ?????

One thing that I have always wanted is that the deliveries and prisoner intake happen within the prison walls. there is a whole list of good and bad things that could happen. prisoners try to escape under the bus, inside mail trucks....

I can’t wait to play.

i have been super excited for this game but now its pushed back past manor lords and i know ill be playing alot of manor lords.... might end up waiting for a sale.

I kinda wish the colours weren’t so drab. Flat green. Flat grey. No different textures or worn grass areas or different coloured brick buildings… I hope we see some variety while maintaining the serious tone much of the game is going for.

On the contrary, drab is the best colour scheme for a prison game because that is how real prisons look.

In PA1 i made solitary confinement as outside as fenced 2 by 1s with absolutely nothing in it. Needs to be a punishment after all :P

ok my only complaint is the new ui a lot is better but a lot seems changed for the sake of change without actual improvements prime example being the regime menu which is already perfect in the first game

​@dr.bherrin building a prison together. You see appear what the other person has built and you can add your own structures. You'll have to communicate to not both build a canteen at the same time. And eventually you can just make your own security section. One does max other does med.

Please put in something that offers the possibility that the prisoners can walk or eat faster. Because in reality everyone manages to eat and go to the canteen in 1 hour. Because you can walk 1km in twelve minutes.

I love PA1, but the shift to 3D looks wrong. The characters remind me of a Wii game and looks plain bad.. I hope it looks better on launch

Modding support will be there. It's being done through Paradox Mods, so that it all has compatibility with consoles as well.

First they promised a game for March, then for May, now for September. Are you kidding me? "There will be no early release" is the name of the news. Only THIS is already an illegal detention of a prisoner, and not the cancellation of early release. I did time. Refunded

We need diagonal walls! Every prison in America built after 1980 has diagonal walls. They make space utilization more efficient and make indirect observation easier by avoiding blindspots. This is the thing that made PA1 almost unplayable to me. I kept having wasted space when I tried making my housing units more efficient.

the game is bad, the developer company is even worse! they mess up every good game with a new game.... reminds me highly on THQ Nordic.... take over good game titles and mess up immediatelly with a DLC politic that is costing much more than the original game by itself. and never finish the game as soon as they see its sensless. i recommend highly do not buy the game.

It needed a fresh new look, yes. Sometimes remaking the game is easier than working on an old game

I swear the more i see the more disappointed i get a perk to build faster as the first option is the most amazing meme ive ever seen yeah we know build speed sucks here have this perk why would we make it faster or implement it at a later stage so higher tier walls or objekts get out faster nope make it first perk so players can say its such a bad designed game and give em more pain if they dont take this trash i really love such calculated moves from developers cant wait to see the upgrade to make the bed smaller in a 2x1 like the bunk beds are 😂😂 good job so far i see the paradox is deeply rooted in that one Well all said i give up on this sad reminiscence of pa 1 for these that stay i hope you guys have fun with it and i really wish it gets better then 1 but it seems so grim already

Small pipes are unlocked with research now, basically being treated as a security upgrade. (I don't like it like this either, but it is what it is)

It just would have been better if they didn’t give a release date and just released it when it was ready instead of giving release dates for them getting players hopes up when they know it wasn’t ready.. I do understand it is better to get a fully working and have a delay but I just don’t agree with game developers delaying games more than once.

Fix the original PA1 : NOPE Make another PA thats 100% going to be a cash grab? : Yep! And for everyone else in the comments, LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Like seriously, if a game has preorder, thats a automatic red flag. They are trying to get you to pay for a game, that has zero reviews, zero standing, and you can't even access it. I don't exactly know what steams policy is, but I'm pretty sure you can't refund preorders once 14 days passes. So please for the love of god, do not preorder this, wait. And if PA2 proves to be good, then buy it. And another thing, this game is 100% going to have DLC to add what should be base game content.

Oh really? I worked in three different US prisons that had showers in the cells. To be blunt about it, it decreased the number of attacks on prisoners as it's a room where putting guards on watch was both awkward and difficult. So, it is realistic.

@@dr.bherrinWhat makes it unreaslistic is how small of a space is dedicated to the shower with no division at all from the rest of the room. That being said in prisons with communal shower rooms it's not that akward to watch because most are individual stalls. You don't have to necessarily look at them getting naked all the time....

You guys f*"ked up !! You shouldn't of delayed the game. Should of just released it and do weekly updates!! What's the point of showing the game off so much then hitting us with a massive delay that don't put much trust into your guys games.
