Also, the Beetle is absolutely NOT a throwaway starter piece. As I mentioned earlier, Beetles are vital for neutralizing the enemy’s defense, and you often need both to do it successfully.

You're definitely right that with the Pillbug on defense, the Beetle can be an important piece to lock down the opponent's Queen Bee, though other times it does feel weaker than most of the other pieces.

​@@StrataGames I will qualify my comment by saying that I generally assume play conditions include all expansion pieces. If you are not playing with the expansions, the Beetle is not nearly as pivotal, and can be a reasonable choice for starting piece. While the Beetle's main purpose is locking down the PB or Queen - which may not be necessary every game - against most experienced players this WILL be necessary about 90% of the time. So maybe it's weak in a lot of senses, but that's only because the one power they gave it is just so game-defining.

The Bettle is really strong. You need it to counter the pillbug

I think it’s important to note that the Pillbug is the most defensive piece in the game. You almost always want a Pillbug - or a Pillbug-powered Mosquito - adjacent or near your Queen. This allows you to toss attackers off your Queen, or to whisk your Queen to safety. Because of this, much of the game’s strategy focuses on how to get a Beetle on top of the opponent’s Pillbug or Queen before mounting any earnest attempt to surround her. The Pillbug CAN have impressive attack capabilities (especially when paired with the Mosquito), but that’s a slightly more advanced strategy.

Peoole hate it when i use the beetle. He causes emotional damage making him just as strong as the ant

it's definitely more complex than that but good starting tips :)

Heh, "stratebee". I've struggled to really "get" this game, but the tips at the beginning have helped a lot.

Umm... okay. You just described what every piece does. The only tips you have given is be reactive, lock down an enemy piece or break a loop Im sorry, but when I a see a video title as "basic tips and tricks", I am not looking for "an introductory video of what your pieces do"

The beetle is way more powerful than you gave it. It can immobilize other pieces. This video was not a tip/hack/strategy as the title suggests. What strategies did you offer? None. You just told us how the pieces move. Pretty bad video and not worthy of 21k views, if you ask me.
