Basic Talk Arrma Senton 4x4 vs Granite 4x4 brushed which would I pick

Both a great choices, but both are not always a purchase option due to different factors such as budget and space. If one needed to select only one, which to get? Here is my opinion as of this video.

I just saw and priced out all the parts needed to convert a mega to a blx, it's an insane markup! Totally worth it to buy a blx straight away in my opinion. Arrma kind of advertises the mega as just needing a brushless motor to make it the same as a blx, but there are a lot of part differences that have to be upgraded as well.

What upgrades in particular? The chassis and pins are a good option. For me, the sad thing is that they have been doing away with many of the roller options.

Nice video I'm looking into a big rock or a granite for my next rc

That is a tough one. I would say it depends on the space you have available due to the speed difference if you ever use 3s vs 2s.

Can the wider truck body be swapped onto the Granite? I like the performance of the granite but I don’t like how unrealistic it looks

Not without modifications. It will rub. It would have to be mounted high and the wheelbase would be off, so trimming would be involved.

How would you stack the granite up to the 3s big rock? What's more fun to drive? I have a Kraton 6s exb snd Looking for a smaller 3s alternative to bash around in smaller places. Thanks

I have a great bias towards the Granite. The Big Rock is like a Senton with MT wheels and body. Which is good. You can swap back and forth. But the Granite has a bit shorter wheelbase and width. Maybe an inch shorter in both wheelbase and width. And that is why I prefer it every time. It has a far better scale look. It wheelies easier. My backyard has about a 25'x25' area due to some planters I put in, and the Granite is enjoyable still. Makes the turns. Yes, it does roll over a bit easier, but it is a small space I cannot go that fast anyway. At the park, I take high speed turns wide, so not a big deal. If it is on it's roof, it is way easer to flip it back by using forward and reverse... it has had on the drivetrain though. I can go on and on... In sum I think I like it because it just looks and handles like a truck. Which is the total opposite of what a racer wants. But it's not for racing. It just needs bash and look good doing it. May not have been the best answer or what you were expecting, but I choose the Granite.

@@telecomandorc this is helpful! I was leaning towards the BG because a lot of people choose it because of the stability, but I have a Kraton 6s exb v1 that is super stable if I want to go fast wide open in a big space. I'm looking for an RC I can take to a city park and still have fun with it. The 1/8 kraton needs a bit more room. The granite seems perfect. As long as it's not annoyingly out of control I'll be into it. I like the wildness of it. Seems a bit more durable than the BR as well. What batteries are you running in your, brand, mah, c-rating? I'm thinking of using them for my kraton as well. Any suggestions? Probably better to run a single pack in the kraton, but overlap on batteries is appealing. Thanks!

@@pizzomedia7261 I only run 2s and 4s. I run Gens Ace Redline 6000mAh and one 8200mAh 2s and the 4s are the 6000mAh. I have been considering a 3s but still shopping. I put a HW EzRun 10BL120 in my 4-Tec 2.0 and I am liking it. But I want to push it a bit more. Bad idea, but I want to do it just for kicks. But there isn't a 3s Redline to my knowledge. I also run 5mm bullet connectors, so I may have to just suck it up and go with XT90 for the one.

@@telecomandorc thanks, helpful info! How much run time do you get on the 8200 and does it have enough punch on 2s? Is that what you run in the granite? I'm surprised an 8200 fits in the tray and doesn't throw of the weight of the truck. I can't seem to find a 6s or 3s solution that is around 6000mah, 100c hard case. Power hobby makes a 5000, but it seems low mah for the money. Gensace makes a "basher" series supposedly made for arrmas, but they don't fit in all their vehicles. I've also been told to stay away from them because while they're great out of the box they have been proven to be unreliable.

@@pizzomedia7261 Tekin RX8 and ProHD 4300kv motor will make the granite wheelie on 2s day and night. The 8200mAh pack has more than enough C for the system. And 5mm bullet collectors don't sweat. Run time? tough one. It depends on how you drive it. Five minutes on the short end and 8 on the long end non stop. If you are stopping, setting up for jumps and taking your time, you can double the time. But it is hard to tell because it really depends on the driving still. Think of MPG in a car. My old 2018 F-150 supercrew 5.0 got 22-23MPG hwy driving about 65-70mph. Bump it 10mph and mpg dropped to 19-20MPG. I generally got 19 combine, and just over 15 city... Lend it to my father and... well, good luck. As far as 3s, that is the problem with 3s. 5000mAh is not much in runtime. Log ago I had Traxxas packs. They are good but soft pack. They don't last bashing. The Gens Ace 3s basher battery packs are somewhat large... tall, really. This is why I usually do 2s or jump to 4s. There are just better options.
