Naturals SWIM. It naturally relaxes every muscles in your body. It naturally cools the body. It’s calming for the mind. It’s a fantastic workout. It’s a survival skill. Most importantly, it’s FUN. As a natural, your hair is as healthy and strong as it’s ever going to be. Take advantage of that and stop punishing yourself for having a different hair type. Jump in there and HAVE FUN! 💙🌊💙

I turned 60 in February and I've been natural for a year. For God's sakes, why didn't I do it sooner. I wash my hair about 4 days a week, drench and condition my hair every day. I put products on it, use my hands to work it through and let it air dry. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes for me to get my hair to fabulous and I'm done. It is so liberating not worrying about my hair getting rained on or wet from the ocean. I run 5 days a week and I could care less that my hair gets sweaty. Just wash and go!

I had mine at 24. I switch between loose hair and locs. 11 years no weaves or wigs and would never go back. Very liberating.

When I lived in Hawaii, my hair was always in the ocean and I had the best , healthiest hair of my life. Monoi oil (Tahitian macerated coconut oil) is amazing for beach hair days.

Wow! I don’t know why I didn’t think of oil before the pool. I always put conditioner. Thank you for the information.

I was fighting you on your advice. On wetting my hair every day. As a child, lucky if I got it wet once a month. So much hair and took an entire day. Not lying. Not including the air drying. It retains moisture and is normal porosity. Wets fine. You said use as much conditioner as hair. I was nowhere in that ball park of usage. I'm wetting regularly but not drenched wet every day, afraid of water fatigue. The conditioner goes on damp or wet hair, every day. I've noticed a change !!!!! One: length, it grows anyway, not surprising. Two: Texture a lot more manageable when dry. Three: Vibrancy, she looks good. Four: A lot more manageable and consistent.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 thank you!!!!

Thanks for your advice! I want to start swimming this summer but was worried about the chlorine. Question: Will you do a video on how to diffuse type 4 hair of differing lengths? I don't have room for a hair dryer, but I struggle with my roots getting too frizzy and taking a long time to dry when I use a diffuser.

@@hairrules💫✨ This will be an answer to a prayer 💠 for me ; even now, mentioning that gray hair 🧑🏿‍🦳 👨🏻‍🦳 is normally “coarser” and would benefit from the conditioner . . . That makes so much sense! I shouldn’t expect my white/gray strands to behave? respond? feel? the way the former melanin-rich black strands used to, huh!?! Hmmm…🤔💭 [Parent to more than one child & children, though obviously related, are distinct and unique in their own right - - hence, different “application” of training that’s the most beneficial to that particular child as opposed to a ‘one-size/one-regimen-fits-all,’ mentality! Thus, & etc.] Excuse my verbosity, but I’m very excited bcuz you’ve got me thinking, and I need to figure out my hair issues and treat them. Thank you so much for such an informative short video!💫✨

Not everyone is blessed to live near an ocean🌊 If you live in the U.S. I believe salt water can be found in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico. This makes regularly "swimming in salt water" pretty impossible for residents of landlocked states.

@@vienicestyles Right. I forgot about Hawaii... I had the contiguous states in mind. My point was that regular salt water swimming is not an option for most people in the U.S. It kinda goes without saying that salt-water swimming is better than chlorinated water for our skin and hair. Damage to skin and hair can be mitigated -- Swimming is still probably the best exercise overall. And holistically speaking, from the crowns of our heads to the soles of our feet, swimming is more beneficial than detrimental
