Basic course - Reactions in beams 9/13 | How to calculate support reactions in beams ?

In this part of the course, Iwill solve the next task step by step. In this task, I calculate the support reactions in a simply supported beam suspended by one of the supports. The beam is loaded with vertical concentrated forces, horizontal concentrated force and concentrated moment caused by a pair of forces. I will start by adopting the coordinate system and replacing the supports with the appropriate reactions. Then, using equilibrium equations, I will calculate the sum of projections of forces onto the axes of the coordinate system and the sum of moments at the support points. From the above equations I will determine the values of the support reactions in each of our beam supports. By the way, I will teach you how to easily deal with marking moments on beams. Finally, I will show you how to check the values of the calculated support reactions.
