Greetings. Given that the perimeter of the rectangular figure is equal to 30 inches, and the sides are (X+5) and X. We can say that the perimeter 2(X +5 +X)= 30, and 2X +5=15. Moving on, we have 2X=15-5=10. Now, from 2X=10, X=5. When X is equal to 5, the length of the rectangle is X+5=10 and the breadth is 5. Now, with knowing the length and breadth of the rectangular figure we can find the area by simply multiplying the length by the breadth to get (10×5) sq. inches. Area of rectangular figure is 50 square inches.

So, if given 2 corners are 90 degrees. Would it still work w/a single corner?

It has been 30 years +/- since I sat in a college algebra class, and I was glad that I could still do algebra. The only difference in my equation was this…I started out with: 2x + 2(x+5) = 30 4x = 20 X=5 LxW =area 5 x 10 = 50 sq. Inches
