Jokichi (Ayano's dad) doesn't have stockholm syndrome. he goes along with Ryoba's fantasy because he's scared of her. it's evident by the way he speaks in the second basement tape. in that tape, he's more of a pushover and is less refusal towards Ryoba's ideas, showing zero reaction to Ryoba saying she "wants to track someone down". their relationship is far from healthy, none of the Aishi's romantic relationships are healthy.

I think it’s both. I think he does love her in a way, but he’s still scared of her. Ryoba isn’t stupid, she is a master manipulator with the ability to change someone’s opinions no matter how big of a change it is, that’s evident in gameplay with her ability to apologise to the guidance councillor and apologise to students for misbehaviour. It’s even cannon that both Ryoba and Ayano are master manipulators because they have to be to get away with murder so effortlessly. Ayano is able to drive innocent girls to take someone’s life in an unreleased elimination method, Ryoba is no different. It is totally possibly and likely that Ryoba manipulated Jokichi to falling in love with her, even if he’s not madly in love with her, there evidently is some affection there. She manipulated him into falling in love with her. Of course, even if he loved her, he still knows exactly what she’s capable of, he knows exactly what’s she’s done and that’s scary. If it very difficult for even master manipulators to manipulate someone into changing their entire personality, impossible even, so she cannot change the fact that he is naturally scared of her, but he still loves her because she manipulated him to do so in that way.

I really hope we get more basement tapes!

I did some research on the Aishi family and HOLY CRAP the bloodline goes WAY back to like the 1800s. I mean most of the members have names, where the come from, and all that. Yandere-dev really did a deep dive with the backstories for this game

Well, now because 1980's mode is finally out, we finally know why does ryoba doesn't confess to him. She was judged at the court room and everyone finally knows about her, it's obviously impossible for her to confess her love in that situation. Poor ryoba :(
