I wonder if one of those wall hung toilets would have a high enough sewage connection to work without a platform, or a much smaller one.

Yes, the rear discharge units would allow for a much shorter platform. They also come with a pretty hearty price tag over a traditional toilet. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

i have a Sanicompact in my attic bathroom (3rd one i've had to buy) and i'm sick of these things and want to put in a regular toilet, can i use a 6 in height platform for it to sit on? FYI it drains to a square hole (~ 15" x 15") that runs straight to the cellar with no obstructions and less than 12" away from where the toilet will be. give the distance from the toilet to the drain pipe i was planing to not angle it, should i?

That's unfortunate to hear. I plan to install a macerating pump toilet on the other side of my basement. Yes, gravity drains are by far the most reliable and superior to any pump toilet. I would install it with some fall to the drain and you will need proper venting. Without a vent I'm afraid it would pull the water out of the bowl with the straight drop to the basement. Thinking about doing a poop deck platform in my basement next to the main stack that is for the 1st floor bathroom and vents through the roof. Cutting out all the cast iron and use all PVC with a sanitary tee as low as I can put it to the floor See any issues with this??

I'm not a professional plumber, and I would perform the same install. The only suggestion I would make is if the deck isn't right next to the Y pipe I would add vent. Thanks for watching and happy poop deck installation! 👍😁
