Put them on the wall shelf planters, you can pick all the fruit off easily

I havnt built a moonpool yet so still trying to figure out the most efficient, in the 1st game I used moonpools in each biome just so I can dock and have a little storage dump until I could get my sub to pick up the loot, this map just seems way to small for needing bases everywhere. Tbh I havnt needed any seatruck modules or prawn suit yet. I use 2 ultra high cap tanks and that is all I’ve needed, go up for air ever 500 seconds.

You're better off (in both games) aiming for "power generation to reactor", or building a cascading genset. - if you're above 100m Solar to Bioreactor is a good option. Above 200m Solar to Geothermal. 300m, and below Geothermal to Nuclear. Fuel doesn't decay, so the game will use constant sources before fuelled sources. Therefore those converted biomatter stores, and Nuclear fuel rods go a long, long way. - So much so, that 8x nuclear fuel rods should cover you for an entire play through involving around 30hrs realtime. The only thing to watch out for, is making sure the power connects to a HAB directly. Don't let it connect through the foundation parts. It gets wonky. Building a main reactor will stop that flickering effect, even if you don't actually fuel it.

i have a concept in which the start of the base is on a small island/flat iceberg. Then using compartments to go underwater vertically which stuff like multipurpose and moonpool in different directions. then, using a power tranmitter, getting power from thermal plants.

I just did the masochistic thing of… Shoving four Nuclear Reactors into one large room.

Just plan it in an interior growbed. Work for me.

Plenty of nuclear rods in the wreck sections. I’ve never made my own.

That is actually true. You might be right for a playthrough it should last.

@@Evantek, it does last a full game without any depletion, but there are enough rods in the various sites and wreck sections for a refuel. At least six rods, I think I found seven, and there may be more. For a reasonably sized base, two rods are probably enough, though I have only finished the game twice and both times with just one base with a full reactor, so you could almost certainly have three nuclear powered I’d sized bases (large room, two moon pools and scanner room) without making more rods. Handy that you can make them, though - none of the ingredients are that hard to find.

@@nickboylen6873 especially once you get mid game and can make easily enough, it is definitely the way to go, unless you got geothermal spots. But reactor about 20 hours in and I have a container full of rods.

Just a random spot in Twisty Bridges.

I built mine just started below zero and figured it was time to start building once I got the habitat builder! I'm a little confused on how to get oxygen into my base so far I just have 2 multifunction room and 2 platforms and a hatch! Anyone know how to put oxygen to it? Is it just like subnautica?

I find when I use just geothermal power that the base takes a second to boot up while loading and ends up dropping the docked prawn suit, does any one else have this problem?
