The hippie is Arjen Lucassen which is the man behind Ayreon. All of what you hear comes from his mind, he wrote all the music, the lyrics, the story, he played all the guitars, bass and most of the keyboards on the original album and casted all the singers.

Oh, and now you have actually a reason to call someone 'tall'. Arjen is 6'6", oh, and the reason for the star trek outfit, the narrator of it all once upon a time played the character of Q... The flautist once played in a band called Focus. There is a video when they had a hit in the USA and were invited to play there on tv. The problem was they were asked to shorten the song because of 'USA commercials'. To they sped the song up and played a 7 minute song in 4 minutes.

@@Paul_C Thijs van Leer performs still with Focus, I think a few years even the drummer from their success years, Pierre van der Linden, rejoined the band. They are getting older of course. In the seventies Thijs van Leer had as flute player some big selling albums with partly classical music, Introspection series, with the orchestra led by Rogier van Otterloo.

Probably wearing a Star Trek uniform to honor the narrator for this show. That's John de Lancie who played Q on the Star Trek: The Next Generation series.

The Hippie dude is Ayreon's composer, writer, multiinstrumentalist and producer 😂 Arjen Anthony Lucassen, he has also other projects than Ayreon, I don't know how he could manage it.

After Simone Simons did her "aria" the beat changes into a typical one the way the group Focus would play. That 70's group had a flutist/keyboardist/jodler called Thijs van Leer. Beautifully matured he enjoys being invited to flay flute once again.

Hey Lauren. Glad you're enjoying the ride. Ayreon is actually playing 4-5 shows this weekend (and all tickets were sold within 1-2 hours, eventhough they added a matine show). Well, you already know from the comments below who the hippy, the flutist, the indian are. So, here is a bit more info for you to digest ;o) The keyboard player is Joost van der Broek, NL mister Metal, ex-member of After Forever (with Floor and Mark Jansen (Epica)) The violinist is Ben Mathot and the drummer is Ed Warby (VUUR - Devin Townsend Project) - all 3 are "fast" members of Ayreon

Man rewatching this while wearing my new Ayreon necklace brought out feelings I did not expect, I watched this in the cinema in Tilburg yesterday after a brief quiz presented by Arjen and Joost (the keyboard player). I will be seeing them tomorrow with the 01011001 live beyond the waves and I am really excited! I went to the pop up store today because I didn't own any Ayreon merch but now I do :)

I just came back from this years Ayreon shows. It was even better than i thought it would be. And that qas in large parts due to the amazing community of the Ayreon fans. The shows were amazing but for me meeting so many nice people from all iver the world was as big as seeing the shiws. I miss the Ayreonauts already.

Hi Lauren. You correctly identified the female fan in the front row wearing a Star Trek shirt. This was because 'The Narrator' is John De Lancie who played the character Q in Star Trek; The Next Generation. The Flautist is Thiis Van Leer from Dutch progressive rock band Focus ( Sylvia and Hocus Pocus) who had two UK hits in the 70's. Great reaction as ever, and (if I may say so), your choice of outfit looks really good on you. Take care x

They are entering the electric castle, not all will survive. Yes, it's very white, I've seen black reactors react to Ayreon,. Epica, Nightwish, loving the music. I was at Wembley Arena for Nightwish, only saw white! Why? The flutist is Thijs van Leer from 60s-70s band Focus.

LOL at 4:30 "I'm also looking at this crowd.. ehm a lotta white folks in this crowd.. my gawd, it's a very white crowd". And you're right, it depends on where the concert was filmed. With Ayreon it's rather simple: always The Netherlands and yes, we Dutchies are a very "white" (I'd say Caucasian) bunch😂 Same goes for other European nations. In other words: "This is not America" (but we're catching up..). Saw a reaction to Emma Kok's epic performance by a middle aged black US dude the other day. The show was in Maastricht, also in Dutchieland. Same typically American reflex. Probably something to do with a preoccupation re: "inclusiveness"? His first comment: "Okay people, this looks extreeemely Nordic". Sounded like some kinda warning. Actually like these comments t.b.h. Shows there's still a noticeable difference between the US and European nations which adds to global diversity 😁 Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘 Oh and nice reaction!

In the Netherlands, we have never talked about the colour of peoples skins, until American racism blew over, I guess. I know people from several parts of the world, with slightly to a lot more or slightly to a lot less melanin in their skin and I would find it very tedious and pointless to rank them into skin colour. Also, everyone can buy a ticket, regardless of what they look like...

@@jeanlecocq692 That's right. In today's US, when you have Polish or say Irish ancestry, you're increasingly categorized as "white", instead of Polish or Irish. Over here, we still speak of Germans, Dutchies, Swedes, Italians etc. instead of "white ppl". That's why the comment by Lauren (and the other US guy) peaked my interest. Inclusiveness seems to have become a US cult, if one appears unaware that ethnic conditions may (still) vary across the globe. If their comments are indicative of anything, I'd say they're informed by all-inclusive monocultural globalism. Prelude to a brave new world. All in good fun oc ;)
