Barry's matches vs Naitch are the stuff of legend...I watched many of their 1 hour matches, and man, you were on the edge of your seat throughout..Barry would come ever so close to pinning Ric, but never could....just pure and classic wrestling...

He was World Champ for a week. In the early 80's he beat Harley Race at the Forest High School auditorium in Ocala, Florida. I was there ringside. He pinned Harley his hand was raised and the referee gave him the belt. Come the very next Saturday morning on Championship Wrestling from Florida there was not a word said and Harley Race was still champ.

Barry being a Horseman was his career highlight. Had fans embraced him as the #1 babyface in 86-87 replacing Dusty Rhodes, he would have never been a horseman. But by mid 87 he really hadn't gotten over with the fans. The fans may have thought, "We like Barry. But we like Sting, Luger, Nikita even more." So it was shortly afterwards they were seriously considering turning him heel and Horseman. It's all about having them really love or hate you. No middle ground. That's why the outrage at him becoming a horseman made his decision more appropriate.

Barry, I've been a huge fan of yours, going back to the mid 80s. I was too young to go to the Clubs when I was in the military, and I really didn't want to. So sitting in the Barracks, wrestling was all I had and football. And I've been through Sweetwater several times. I'm a paralyzed Disabled Veteran now and would still like to meet you. I live in a VA Assisted Living Facility in Augusta, Georgia.

Best era of 4 horsemen was when Barry was in the group. He was great singles and tag wrestler. He had everything it took to carry a company. But who's to argue with a guy named Ric flair. Nature boy was a man. I'm glad we have a company like AEW now, at times they throw me back to those good old days of the four horsemen and Sting,.Luger, and the American.Dream

I miss Vader! Sad his heart gave out but man he was great. I remember in Winston Salem my son seen Harley and Vader beside the curtain. He had that stretch thing warming up. My son and his friend walk up and ask for his autograph. The next thing I see is my son running away. When he came back to where we were sitting I ask where is your autograph. He said Vader growled at him. Lol He was 8 years old then. Now he operates AML and Wrestlecade.

It was announced that he was stripped of the title within 2 days of his departure because while Jim herd was running the second biggest promotion he still had no idea what he was doing. So even if you could go to the wrestling belt store conveniently located next to the partridge family bus dealership, Herd killed that idea from the beginning.
