It depends on your equipment. Is it nonexistent low or you have it cranked all the way up and it sounds low compared to what you are used to? I boosted the bass so there was less room to bring up the overall volume. It might be 4db lower after taking out the crackles.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying. Sometimes the stereo goes out of phase and it eliminates the audio completely. I noticed it too. Even though the levels are accurate a lot of it is coming through the low end. I always boost the bass on older recordings. I probably should have brought up the middle as well. Good info for the future. Thanks!
