540 was reformulated i saw the GCMS files. The new version has 18 ingredients. The old one has 51. The old one has a touch more ambroxan, veramoss and the other 30 ingredients were in small amounts say .3% of each in the concentration

Loving the vids. I just got Armaf untold and its jaw-droppingly amazing. I have never smelled the original 540 (at least not intentionally) only the lattafa ana abiyedh rouge one. I can totally see the untold being a 100% copy and glad i chose that one over any of the other dupes. Are u on the same page that thats ultimately the best one to get if the budget is not limited (ofc excluding the original)?

Hit this video on the head! Loud and proud is the best type of fragrance to have! Just saw the new Acqua Di Gio Profumo Parfum announced. To be honest I am a sucker for fruits and vanilla, but most of all I like something different, like BR540 was when it launched, and I respect a perfume that opens a new chapter…currently testing PR 1 million Royal…review very soon…see you soon till then, spray, wear, enjoy, repeat….JL

Okay, my friend, the only oud satin mood that I have in my collection is the one from fragrance world, and that is a bang on clone with unbelievable performance….JL

But that's the beautiful thing about Baccarat Rouge 540 EdP, that it's so airy, it still fills the room, has a intoxicating sillage, and I rebought my 200ml about ago 6-8 months, my first bottle I bought about 3-6 months after release, I can't detect any differences, maybe you placed it somewhere it's to light or something? But I mostly wear my OG Baccarat's only for special occasions, and Ana Abiyedh Rouge (this is more of a take on BR540 EdP, more fruity and more feminine, but gorgeous to:), Baroque Rouge, or/and Amber Oud Ruby Edition for everyday, and they are all amazing dupes....

I think maybe my skin was hungry on that day and it ate it!!!! Br540 was big time reformulated I saw the GCMS report sheet. The main ingredients are still there like ambroxan and hedione, but the new formula from 2020 has 32 less ingredients in it than the original release. All the ingredients that are missing are like .3% of the formula each.

Great review Jon. How would you compare it with Ana Abiyedh Rouge?

Thanks for your question, ok so they are similar but Ana abiyedh rouge has a more fruity top…which actually takes it more towards the MFK BR540 PARFUM EXTRACT (red bottle) in terms of performance this one does more distance than Ana abiyedh rouge. JL

I.'m in love with lovely cherie by Maison Alhambra. No chance that TF better or stronger.. Doesn't matter how close the perfumes really - Alhambra does the same character and I believe in best of the best quality after trying his cherry one! Think to get all he has ever done. TF doesn't matter after I've met Alhambra. He makes like, not the perfect clones - with TF even better I believe...

enjoyed the video leggy! not my favourite scent i always smell "buying candi floss at a fair"which ain't a bad thing, like the dry down tho, too sweet for me overall but i understand other peoples taste and why they think this scent is great, enjoyed the vid leggy got a "maison alhambra" haul coming soon i have heard they are not as potent as the first batches when their scents came out i will see and comment if they are diluted to the point of 2-3 hours projection. ; )

I was put off purchasing BR540 because my daughter had a bottle of “cloud” for Christmas and as much as I love it it’s now in my head it’s ladies . I’m desperate to shake the mental block so I brought the lattafa version before jumping in at the deep end . It’s certainly not as sweet as cloud but unfortunately it reacted badly to my skin and even slightly burnt 🥴 (is that even possible) ? longevity isn’t grate either in my opinion so I’m not sure if I have a dud . I’ll definitely buy Maison Alhambra as my experience with them has always been a good one but witch ones better … Maison or armafs untold ?

Thanks for your comments, ok now cloud is kinda BR540 with a creamy marshmallow infused…and I agree it shifts very much to a girly scent (a gorgeous scent though) now as for Ana abiyedh rouge…that is closer to MFK BR540 parfum extract as it is BR540 with fruit infused, also I hear that current bottles are lacking in performance due to a reformulation. I have never had a skin irritation from a fragrance dmso I don’t know what to say about that, personally I always spray over moisturised skin so maybe that helps. Maybe in your case you might have to spray on clothes for the rest of the bottle that doesn’t agree with your skin. Maison Alhambrais a division within the Lattafa empire 🤩…and their Baraque rouge is very very close to BR540…and for its price it performs awesome….honestly though the closest clone of BR540 is ARMAF UNTOLD. Honestly Untold is BR540 in a different bottle…same smell as the early bottles of MFK…and pretty much the same longtime performance…I’ve already bought a backup…EBay U.K. it’s £64…all beauty it’s £66….and it 💯 removes the need to spend £220 on the original 70ml MFK. JL

How many hours does the scent last???

Thank you for your question, it’s a skin scent for around 10 hours, with nice projection for the first 1.5-2 hours…then a scent bubble for a further 2 hours…on clothes it is there until they are washed…honestly for the tiny price tag you will be amazed at how long it lasts….remember to macerate it when you first get it…after a couple of weeks it is in its full potential….best wishes from JL

Jon Haven’t read down through the comments so someone else may have already said this, but if you try Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Rouge it is supposed to be an excellent copy of BR 540. I know you’re a Lataffa-head so maybe you already have it. It is a beauty for small potatoes.

Ahhh yes Ana abiyedh rouge is a fantastic fragrance, it’s a very good clone for BR540, but with a fruity almond note over the top which actually makes it similar to BR540 parfum extract (the red bottle from MFK), thanks for your comments, always appreciate your input my friend…and I hope to see you on the next review….JL

Thank you for your comments, my friend. This fragrance is incredible for its price. Do not judge it in the first 10 to 15 minutes because it is as I say in the review a chemical start . Once it has settle down, you get an incredible take on BR540. With very decent performance. Stay safe keep spraying and I hope to see you on the next review, Best wishes from JL

Got a bottle last week and it is dreadful! Massive alcohol at the start then a feint raghba wood intense then 5 mins later hardly anything even after 20 sprays!!! Box went in the bin so can't return it and can't even give it away!.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this fragrance, the chemical alcohol at the start is common with many of the Maison Alhambra products…the only thing that I would recommend is that you leave the bottle and contents to macerate for a month and then come back to it…the experience I have had with many of these is that the smell settles down and the performance is vastly improved…so don’t give up on it yet…store it in a cool dark place and revisit it further down the line….best wishes from JL

I will be honest with you and say that even though I have had my bottle around 12 months now…and it is fully macerated…even now when I spray it the slightly weird alcohol/chemical smell is there but I don’t go near it for the first 10-15 minutes as I know it’s not good, however I know that after the first 10 -15 minutes it is an amazing transformation…and a very good interpretation of BR540 is what is there..it’s kinda crazy how it works…like it just has to settle down and behave itself. I find that it works better and longer when sprayed on clean moisturised skin…projects gently for about 2-3 hours…then drops to a small scent bubble…skin it’s there the next day and clothes several days. So hopefully when you come back to it, you’ll get a similar performance, let me know how you get on. JL
