Great video and lots of good points. I have a one and half car garage space and I am almost finished restoring my e type. It would be great to have more space, not impossible but not easy. I only work a few hours at a time and some days I get nothing done and it can be very disappointing . It's great to see it appears you have a helper. I wish I did. My wife is supportive but never goes in the garage she just occasionally peaks in. I have learned you must be patient, resourceful and committed to finishing. The old saying what can go wrong will, it's very true. I think the 2+2s will be vary valuable in the future. The view over the hood while driving is the same as any other e type. BTW the door shuts great in the video but you probably need a new door pin.😁

Thank your for your valuable feedback. I can fully imagine what it is like. I startet the same way. My lady was always worried that I will end up under a collapsed car and she insisted on a larger workspace with a four arm lift. My luck is that she is a needlewomen in her first education and willing to help. But she also helps installing the engine and other things. Still a fine lady though :-) How much time will you have spent in total for the restoration, I am sure you will recognize a lot of things I am talking about. Enjoy :-)

Well said about the 2+2. I had never really thought of the 2+2 as having any advantage over the Coupe, but I now have a deeper appreciation of the unloved, and under-rated 2+2.

David, thank your for your comment. I totally agree with you, there are more positive aspects than we think for the 2+2. It is suffering a prejudice but I and especially my lady likes them as a passenger. And when getting older we probably appreciate them more and more.

I have enjoyed your video and agree with your findings and sentiment especially regarding the benefits of the 2+2 (if only for the the ease of bleeding the rear brakes via the rear bulkhead access panels!). I spent two years of lockdown stripping everything off the car we have owned since 1976 and completely restoring every part, finally being awarded third place at the JDC/JEC 60th Anniversary Concours which helped me explain the time and money I had spent to my wife by way of justification. I agree the Jag forums are very helpful and I have posted quite often myself as well as posting KZread vids on elements I found difficult and on which there were not already other vids. I have also manufactured the difficult to obtain underdash air vents using 3D printing and have now sent these to many other restoration projects around the world meeting lots of enthusiasts as a result. I would add to your advice by saying take lots and lots of photos but even then the view you need when you come to reassemble will inevitably be just out of shot! Finally do not expect to sell the car and get your money or time back - the real pleasure is just self satisfaction of knowing, as you say, you have done the best job you could and you can look at just a small area of the finished car and only you will ever know just what it took to get it looking that way- the inner smile is just looking at it let alone driving it is what it’s all about. I will follow your other vids with interest thank you.
