Bark River Forrest Scandi - A Premium Bushcraft Knife

Спорт

The Bark River Knife & Tool Forrest Scandi is an excellent premium bushcraft knife. Cpm-3v blade steel with a scandi-vex grind makes for a supreme slicer with excellent toughness and durability. The turquoise spacer and carbon fiber bolster add to the premium look and feel of this knife. A traditional pukko design meshed with the iconic woodlaw pattern makes this knife a tool any bushcrafter would gladly have on their belt.

    In my opinion, scandivex grinde is the best for a bushcrat knife: combines strength and cutting capacity

    Yeah, I think They get rushing trying to get the run out quick, and in doing so they miss the finer things like making sure there are no issues like on the handle of that one. I wish they did a better job at sharpening the spines. Most of them will scrape, but they aren't sharp like an LT Wright, or even a less expensive knife like a Mora Garberg.

    It’s a beautiful knife but the issues you pointed out are the reason I prefer simple working blades. For that kind of money it should be perfect. I love the design, size and sheath. They should make it from 1095 and micarta and cut the price in half.

    Is the bevel truly convexed or is one side more flat than convex like I’ve noticed on all their ‘thinner’ blades?

  • @alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548

    @alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548

    This particular one is a symmetrical convex grind the best I can tell, placing a straight edge on each bevel they look the same. Because it is thinner stock its not far from flat lol and the hand ground nature will make each one different, hopefully you don't end up with one made on a Friday or Monday lol. I hope this helps but if you any other questions feel free to ask, thanks for watching!!!

    @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 thank you for the honest reply, a hard thing to come by, on KZread especially! It’s difficult to get honest info on bark river because much like Esee they’ve developed quite the cult following. It seems even the knife world isn’t immune to the trolls of outrage culture. I do own several bark rivers which are nice after proper sharpening and reprofiling, it’s just annoying that I always seem to have that task to look forward to when I purchase one! As for my scandi’s; I’ll leave those up to the Sami peoples craftsman!

    Well thats not cool at all, I havent heard of anyone having trouble with them. Have you tried contacting them recently or just the initial contact? Also jacob from "thepreppersbunkeroutdoors" youtube channel does alot work with white river, if can't get a response from them directly maybe try talking to him about it and see if he has any ideas. Which model do you have that doesnt have a sheath?
