    So it takes 6 months for a barista to be considered for a shift position BUT since u have experience maybe just a few months? Just let your manager know your interested in moving to be a shift as soon as possible 😊

    Getting other Starbucks employees you work with to cover your shift I think is TOUGH, I think it depends on who you ask lol, Got denied too often. I swear my 2nd day of work at Starbucks, The opener called out (from what I found out he was hungover, big party guy apparently, found out on my 5th day)...still picked up check tho -__-. I think 80% Barista's In LA hate doing it lol.

    Although it is an interview and you might feel the need to be very serious, make sure you are very positive and SMILE! They told me after my interview that they knew they needed me as a shift because I just can’t stop smiling 😁 Starbucks literally says to hire shifts with a positive personality to help keep “the third place” Also, u r going to want to be seen as a problem solver so bring up recommendations to help the flow of the store (I talked about moving a trash in the back from next to the desk to the hand washing station and moving the blenders next to the ice on cold bar to speed up the process) but make sure u don’t talk bad about how things r, just ways u feel could be improvements. Ur going to do great! 🥳👍

    @@watdavedoes thank you, I haven’t interviewed over 8 years, I am currently getting back into the working field after being a stay at home mom for 6 years. I just had a interview last week for a position and I didn’t get it but I noticed I did nervously smile a lot. I do tend to smile a lot either way. Problem solving I am good at that. When you mentioned your scenario was that based of because you’ve worked there prior so you knew the placement of things or just letting them know that little things make a big difference in performance? I have been looking into how to introduce myself and I maybe overthinking how the interview is going to go but I know some can be hard or intimidating. I just want someone to give me the opportunity to show how hard I can work and make a difference

  • @watdavedoes

    @watdavedoes

    Yes, my recommendations were based off previous experience working at that store, however having some examples prepared of how you excelled in ur past work will benefit u. They most likely will ask for examples of problem solving, how you showed leadership, how u have made a bad moment right with a customer, and how you have connected with a customer. Just have examples of those fresh in ur head so u don’t need to awkwardly sit and think about it too long 😂 u will do great!
