That's taught as a self-defense or sentry removal technique not for competition. Using the jacket though is much more restrictive than the belt, because you're not removing it from the body though you can still use the belt as long as you are still wearing it, so some wear extra long belt for that. In all styles of jacket and belt wrestling you can use both your and the opponent's clothing though depending on the rule set it restricts grips and techniques.

Judo is not designed for sports it's a discipline designed to kill. Hence "Ippon" it's not a point it signifies death. One more thing you fail to mention was Kano founderr of Judo FYI you can say also bjj. Also created the belt grading systems that almost every martial arts are accustomed of using. Point being it's a Japanese system hence yes they own unfortunately intellectual property is much of a thing back then But saying Judo reverting it to Jiu-jitsu with even wrong spelling and saying it's Brazilian, Is just farce It's like saying Taco's was invented by the Koreans or Sushi was by the French. or Samurai's are from Russia. @@spyrogaira9819 You're right at the end; you can't make it make sense. I am well aware of the history of judo and bjj. European spellings of Japanese words, or romanji, is a way of writing so Europeans can communicate with Japanese without learning kanji. The difference in jiu-jitsu and jujitsu and jujutsu is hardly different than American theater and British theatre. I failed to mention the belt system? I also failed to mention the speed of light and the circumference of the earth, but what does that have to do with anything? Ippon: literally means "one full point," the highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts contest, usually kendo, judo, karate or jujitsu. I never claimed jiu-jitsu/jujutsu was Brazilian. You made that up. Jujitsu existed in Japan before judo.

depends if it gi mma or not. Rule set determines what is most optimal. If you are wearing a tunic or jacket then gi is very relevant same thing with no time limit vale tudo. While modern unified rules mma is an exciting sport without clothing, stomps, headbuts, & knees to the head of a downed opponent it really doesn't equivocate to unarmed none sport fighting.

Do you mean cage fighting or anything-goes street fighting? I saw a recent video of a wailing man being held down in a crucifix position.
