I get where your coming from but I don't think xavi is the right man for the job. I love that he has brought back belief to the club and he has brought in a new wave of amazing talent but I still think he lacks the tactical value of being a top manager. Barca are at a period where they need a good tactical manager with winning mentality, there are not a lot of those in the world but they should be very careful of who they appoint after xavi. They need a manager that will get the best out of the squad while also getting the best out of our young players. I don't think xavi is the right man for that as of right now but I will always love and respect him for the job he has done at barca. In my opinion being Barca manager is the toughest managerial job in all of football and xavi has done everything he possibly could but I do think it's time for him to go and I respect him for making that decision by himself

One of the best examples of how important a backline is in the UCL is Chelsea 20/21 They signal handedly won the ucl because of their solid backline (Thiago, Rudiger, Reece James, Chillwell, Azpilicueta, Christensen) all players who knew their roles and not to mention Kante. The point is not to have a great defensive partnership at Barca. It was about to maintain a partnership which complemented each other, which doesn't have a similar profile as the other, which could cover up for one's disadvantage.

Imma be honest. I really don’t know where Barca go if Xavi leaves. You can look at Klopp or some other coaches. But their play style either are way too different, or they are way too unproven. Barcelona should probably do everything in their power to make Xavi stay.

It's true, a good defensive line is very important and i cannot stress enough how important a good defensive midfielder is... A lot of Barça's success has been thanks to Busquets, a lot of City's success has been thanks to Rodri, even Guardiola always mentions how important Rodri is. A good example is Al Hilal and Al Nassr... Despite CR7 beeing the best goal scorer, why is al Hilal in front by 9 points? Both team have quality but Al Hilal has Milenkovic Savic, and Al Nassr well... Has some random arab player.............. Ofc having Buono instead of a random arab GK is important but, even now with Ospina, Al Nassr does not have a good defensive midfielder.

I think Xavi's problem is his in game decisions that's where his downfall is, and in today's game the in game decisions are very important to winning a game

Props to the author for doing this much research, however focusing the defensive analysis solely on the defenders, especially in a team like Barcelona that bases their defense on high pressure is wrong, although having a good combination of central defenders is capital, the biggest issue this year in comparison to last is not having a busquets that balances the transitions between high press and backing up, Xavi finally hit the nail in the head moving Christensen to that position, after that the team has been undefeated so far, is a patch as AC is not a central midfielder but it is really important for the movement of gbe whole team... Of course Pau Cubarsi is a gem, specially because he has the capacity to break pressing lines with forward passes that AC nor Araujo can do.

He pocketed Osimhen like it was nothing, hes a really good defender especially for his age and i just hope he stays uninjured beacuse he can be really important for Barca.
