Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a Mediterranean and cosmopolitan city with Roman remains, medieval quarters and the most beautiful examples of 20th century Modernism and avant-garde. It is no surprise that emblematic constructions by the Catalan architects Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Doménech i Montaner have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The city's origins are Roman, and its long history and economic dynamism have made Barcelona a cultural city, which can be seen in the historic-artistic heritage and the promotion of the most innovative artistic trends. A wide cultural programme will take visitors to museums, exhibitions, open-air sculptures… and many concerts, plays and dances.
Popular culture also has its manifestations in this city, which still conserves its most cherished traditions, like the fiestas of La Mercè or the festivities in the neighbourhoods of Gràcia, Sants and Poblenou. Just got back from Barcelona. Amazing place and great people
I visited Barcelona for only 4 days and it still gave me so many memories! Loved the atmosphere~ Such a beautiful city indeed!

The UK is probably the shitest country to live in in the whole Western Europe in regards to the people, atmosphere, food culture, arhitecture, cities and so on. Not to mention alcohol and cigarettes eat up your whole wages so that in the end you end up living with an average wage of 2000 pounds a month just as someone living in the EU's shitholes Romania and Bulgaria with 300 pounds a month. I mean let's be honest - you pay 3 up to 4 times more on cigarettes and at least twice as much on wines and food as an average tax payer in Spain who earns almost the same.
