That said, Carreras, Domingo, Kraus and many other world class operatic singers, performers and conductors were there to make it the most (IMO) impressive musical / theatarical Olympic opening ceremony every, without loosing touch with the origins of the games.

Barcelona Olympics cauldron lighting will forever be the most iconic way of torch lighting in Olympics history.

To this day it has not been surpassed in beauty and perfection! Barcelona 92 was the best of the Olympics !!!!

Cuando el hombre del arco apunto con la flecha al pebetero , el mundo desapareció , mi corazón latía con fuerza , una ansiedad enorme se apoderó de mí , mis párpados estaban petrificados , y de pronto mi respiración se detuvo... El tiempo se había congelado ... aquel arquero soltó la flecha y ésta voló en unos segundos que parecieron eternos ; cuando al fin cayó dentro del pebetero y la flama se levantó con orgullosa intensidad , Levante los brazos , grité , mis ojos estaban cristalinos , tenía una sonrisa que salía desde el fondo de mi ser . Esto fue algo mágico y único que jamás olvidaré .

Como puedes asegurar que "el pueblo" en Seúl, Moscú, Múnich, Sidney, Atenas, Atlanta, etc, No se unió de igual manera para la realización de los Juegos Olímpicos en su ciudad? Tú lo has dicho... Para ti significan eso. Para mí son uno más en una larga lista de buenos Juegos Olímpicos.

***** Jeje... Lo tuyo también es opinión, por lo tanto, algo subjetivo. Para mí esa "unión" del pueblo de la que hablas, también la vi en otras ciudades olímpicas. Para mí, Barcelona, no representa más que, Sydney, Múnich, Seúl, Beijing etc, etc... En cuestión de esfuerzo y unión de su pueblo, para lograr unos juegos memorables. Para tí es algo muy especial? +rizja La figura del voluntario olímpico no existía antes de Barcelona 92, igual que otras muchas novedades. Hoy esta ciudad es mejor que antes de las olimpiadas y me encantaría que se volvieran a celebrar en España, en otra ciudad ;)

De hecho la flama no llega. Un a entrevista de ESPN con Andres Bustamante cuenta ña anecdota de como no llega y el comité les quita el video del momento. Obvio se entiende, todo debe verse perfecto, por eso estan preparados ante cualquier detalle.

@@MaseG7 la flecha pasó por encima, como quieres que entre al pebetero, es un tubo con un quemador, no hay una cavidad en la que se pueda alojar.

I watched this event live not expecting much... but what transpired here has haunted me to this day. Best Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony ever!

Emotivo recuerdo. Tenía 13 años y los días previos estaba esperando ver esta ceremonia, que lo hice con casi toda familia aquella noche de verano, hace justo 25 años. Toda un momento estelar en la historia de España y de los Juegos Olímpicos de la era moderna. Se me han puesto casi los pelos de punta al escuchar el himno Olímpico, momento en el que me he decidido a escribir este comentario. ¡Qué recuerdos!

I watched Barcelona Olympics 1992 , as i was stationed in Barcelona for quite sometime. It was a unique opportunity , once in a lifetime . Stunning performances from Montserrat Cabaille , Joseph Careras , Christina Hoyos , et al . Never seen such a wonderful ceremony. It would remain a history for all time . Love you Barcelona . ❤️👍

I just visited Olympic stadium in Barcelona. Unlike other Olympic venues of recent times, this one has been preserved well and is still being used for other things, so it has not degraded into oblivion. Probably the last Olympics venue you can say that about.

The archer is very accurate in shooting of arrow in the lighting post. its very risky, a few mistake might ignite fire to somebody and it is very embarrassing. Durante mi vida, ( que ya hace unos lustros ) he visto muchos J.O. Hoy precisamente la inauguración de estos últimos, que se nos quite de la cabeza que como los de B 92 es casi imposible superarlos..si alguna vez se pudieran superar hay que volver a hacerlos en España cualquier ciudad de las que tenemos sería suficiente.

Una maravilla, qué recuerdos tan hermosos... Ahora sólo vivimos tiempos convulsos, donde prima el individualismo, el separatismo y el radicalismo en cualquiera de sus extremos, en Europa y fuera de ella. Mucho me temo que se avecinan tiempos peores, puesto que estamos dando demasiados pasos hacia atrás. Mi pobre Freddie, cada vez que pienso en lo espectacular que habría sido verle cantar en directo con Montserrat, se me parte el alma...

Apesar de la controversia que hubo por lo de la llama olímpica, uff sea que haya sido real o no lo de la flecha, pero la verdad se ve el cariño y amor que le pusieron a esa ceremonia de inauguración, una de mis favoritas

Los primeros juegos olímpicos que presencié ya con uso de razón,en aquel entonces yo tenía 10 años y tengo los recuerdos aún frescos y muy presentes,como olvidar el encendido del pebetero sin duda alguna la mejor ceremonia de inauguración de la historia ,grandes juegos los que organizó Barcelona,incluso se veía más unión entre los españoles sean de donde sean catalanes, gallegos,vascos,andaluces,de Madrid etc...

El modelo de Barcelona 92 quedó marcado para la posteridad. Un legado de España para el mundo Al margen fue un evento donde el castellano se hizo sentir muy cercano fue muy relevante para los hispanoamericanos aumque se respeto el regional catalán.
