Cancun is about 1.5 hours away by car, then you have to take a ferry to Isla Mujeres 👍🏻

I would say all the ones you mentioned are primarily family resorts. If you’re looking for more of a party vibe, we recommend something in the Cancun area… we just visited the newly renovated RIU Caribe which has RIU Party and it’s pretty amazing. We’ll have an updated video of the Caribe in the coming weeks. 👍🏻👍🏻

I would say the Maya Beach since the rooms have been refreshed. Otherwise, they are basically the same in terms of food and amenities 👍🏻

Thank you so much for posting this! Are there spas at any of the resorts besides the Maya Palace? And if you had to choose a place besides the palace- where would you recommend for kids? They bumped us out of the palace and put us at the beach because they overbooked- and I'm devastated. we have 2 toddlers. the rest of our family is at the palace.

We loved the Beach! It was definitely one of our faves out of the other non-palace resorts. The rooms are great, and there’s lots to do for kids! We have hotel, buffet and room tours for the Maya Beach on our channel so make sure to check those out! Yes, there’s another spa right beside the Caribe - it’s called U Spa and it’s new and absolutely gorgeous 👌🏻 if you check out our Barcelo Maya Riviera video, it’s at minute 16:40 👍🏻 hope you enjoy your trip!!

They’re both great! But the main difference is that the Barcelos are right on the beach whereas Coba is set back inland. They both have splash pads, but Cobas is a bit nicer 🤷🏼‍♀️

We loved the Palace, the Caribe and the Beach - but really you can’t go wrong with any of them! If you stay at the Maya Palace, you can visit the other 4 as well 👍🏻 we had premium level and we thought it was great - the special checkin, the premium lounge, the free room service.. it was all great! We don’t remember theee being a premium wifi 🤔 but the wifi is excellent throughout the whole complex!

Hi there! Great video!! With a 3 year old, I'm assuming it's best to try to get a room in the Colonial by the splash pad right? Also my mom is coming so we have a babysitter and still want to party a few nights at the club. Would you suggest Barcelo for this, or Bahia Principe (or another one, for best of both worlds- great slides for kids and fun night time parties)? ty!

Yes the Barcelós are great! Lots to do for kids and adults! The Bahia Principe Grand Tulum is another great resort for kids 👍🏻

Wifi is kinda slow..just to add, if your not on a premium level wrist band, room service food.. you have to pay for it..if your on a premium level it is also free..and lastly, we upgraded to a premium level at the Barcelo beach, oh i was excited we were on the 3rd floor, but regretted it cause your gonna be tired walking in this huge resort on a hot steamy humid 90 plus weather, and the last thing you want is your room be at the 1st floor😂 we always got tired going up and down the 3rd floor, and as of today 8/28/22 sargassum is still the issue here.but still its a great resort with lots of things to do, food is also great on the buffet,also on a premium level, you have unlimited a la cart reservations

We haven’t been to all of them, so we don’t know the best one lol 😂 as far as the beach goes, Playa Mujeres in Mexico is great and basically anywhere in the Bahamas will be nice as well 👍🏻

Beach, Colonial, Caribe and Tropical can all visit each other, but not Palace. If you’re at the palace, you can visit all the other 4, but not Maya Riviera. Maya Riviera can visit all Barcelos 👍🏻

Depends what hotel you’re at. The 4 smaller hotels, Beach, Colonial, Caribe and Tropical all share facilities. Palace guests can also visit all of those, but not Maya Riviera. Maya Riviera guests can visit all of the others.

We recently went for a week to punta Cana and stayed at the Bahia principe fantasia because of your video.. it was my 8 year old son’s first visit and he loved it ! We are a family of 5 with my wife and her mom and my son.. we are planning to go to Mexico next year and would appreciate it if you could tell me what would be a good family and kid friendly resort for us.. it’s going to be a first time visit for all of us to Mexico .. please help ..

Glad to hear you enjoyed you’re trip to Dominican! We would recommend Bahia Principe Grand Tulum or Coba 👍🏻 they both have great splash pads and activities for kids. Tulum is newly renovated and right on the beach, whereas Coba is set back from the beach a bit, but still has beach access and is an excellent resort as well - it just depends on what your budget is 👍🏻

Tulum is a bit more money, but it’s right on the beach. Depending when you go, it’s about $200 more per person to stay at Tulum vs Coba.

as premium level can you go to the palace? play at all but the riviera? we wanted to book the Palace but for some reason all the premuim level rooms are booked and we are 9 months out.

Hi there 👋🏼, i wanted to go to this resort in august this year but when i click the details for the Superior Room there it says: “Please note: For the Superior Room, the hotel reserves the right to assign any of the 4 hotels that share this category: Barceló Maya Beach, Barceló Maya Caribe, Barceló Maya Colonial, or Barceló Maya Tropical.” Is there any way i can guarantee a room at the Maya Tropical resort when i book and not be moved over the others? 😓 I saw a review on a site that that actually happened to someone, that would just mess up my whole experience 😢

I don’t know if there’s a way to guarantee it, but I would try emailing the hotel customer service to ensure they put you on the tropical side.

We are staying at tropical. Is the only way to visit the others is to stay at the palace? We had a room at the palace but had to cancel and when we rebooked couldn’t get the same room at palace so booked at tropical. I thought it didn’t matter which one you stayed at…you could visit all the properties…kind of like a sandals.

Correct, you can visit the others except for the Maya Palace and Maya Riviera (adults-only). They are all very similar, but we liked the Maya Beach and Maya Caribe the best 👍🏻👍🏻
