@@thedoublepNormally you’d play the guitar FOR someone (to express your passions in a considerate manner), but I guess playing the guitar AT someone is more “assertive/aggressive” (since the other party will have no choice but to listen). 🤔 That’s my take. But it’s clearly a dialogue joke about how dominant the Kens ‘want’ to be but don’t know how and think what they’re doing is ‘cool’.

This is my favorite scene of all, Ken adorable "showing off his muscle" and making it "hard" on Barbie, his "sublime" shout and then touching his heart at the end as his dream came true.. a lot of emotions in a short scene, excellent acting!!!

ken shouting SUBLIME was the only part of this movie that made me laugh lol, it caught me off guard

Ken is reading "Man & Horse" by John Egens, a memoir about riding from California to Virginia on horseback in the 1970s. Margot gave it to Ryan as an on-set gift and he really took to its story, wanting to not just include it as a little joke in this scene, but also became interested in trying to adapt it into a film.

Looks like Ken skipped out on the most important lesson all Patriarchs fall for "Never trust a beautiful woman, especially one who's interested in you"

I felt so bad for Ken, and all the other kens, throughout the entire movie. Not only he was treated like crap and a second class citizen in the barbie's matriarchal world, but he loved a woman who could never love him back. I'm a girl, but I was totally rooting for the patriarchy. Even when he was getting "revenge" on her, you could tell it was hurting him to hurt her... brilliant performance by Ryan gosling.

I thought I was the only guy insecure enough to "accidentally" flex my muscles like Ken did. Granted, I was only about 13. Our volunteer fire department was hosting a bunch of male teenagers (probably planting the seeds for future volunteers) and suddenly I found myself standing in the back of a fire truck hanging onto the same kind of straps that subway passengers grab hold of. As I flexed my biceps (it was summertime and we were all wearing t-shirts or tank tops), I noticed another kid see what I was doing....and he did the same thing himself. What a classic boyhood memory.

I think that through Barbie and Ken we can learn a some valuable lessons. First, women have a right to be on an equal playing field as men. Second, women need to learn that men have emotions, too.

If you wondered in the real world, and actually met men, you will quickly find that most don't act this way, and if they do, it's for a reason, there are certain attributes and actions that attract the other gender, like women not being confrontative or being modest, men in general DO find that attractive and it is not "wrong" to go and act that way to get what you need. Just try to realise that one sex thinks different than the other, and both are going to treat situations differently if they WANT the results/needs they intend to get.

I like how any negative video about men or barbie won't like me dislike the video or comment unless I go onto my desktop.
