I’m sure you received some other reasons for the low speed but I’ve been using the Andis BGrv’s for about 3 years or so. I do all of my fading with detachable blades. I use the higher speeds to take out bulk and I use lower speeds to do fading. When you go on lower speeds you can hear the hair being cut better than high speed as well as avoiding overheating. I’m not sure if that was Andis’s intent for the 5 speeds on my Bgrv’s but I love detachable blade clippers. Cuts come out cleaner and faster. Enjoy them!

great that you have the detachable get blades the you need is 1 1/2, 1A,OA , 1 AND OOO. and taper Clipper will detail work from there. I have all just in case because when I'm in a hurry I only use detachable. thank you for showing the real it's not as easy as it seems.

The low speed is for a textured cut, and it's good for balding out with a outliner blade because balding out with the outliner blade on up to about a 1A is going to heat up fast on top speed. I hope this helps.

The low speed is for low dense hair if you have a client with lower density in areas you’d drop down to that lower speed to not cut as much hair as quickly as higher density areas

the first or second setting can be use when using the outliner blade/5* blade to bald out. the blade gets really hot at any higher speed.

Amazing clipper, I have it myself. Strong motor, and SO COMFY!! It feels great to hold no matter where your cutting on the head. Awesome for debulking and clipper over comb. Mine is on the fritz though. The motor doesn't hold a steady speed. It revs up and down all over the place. My Andis BGR did the same thing :(. I brought the ZR into Canada and the warranty is void. They don't sell it here. I hope your's holds up better than mine!

I would suggest using the slow speed on clipper over comb or detailed parts of the cut from barber to barber

where did you get those lights next to mirrors? and what kind of tool chest box are those? nice review your the go to guy for clippers reviews before I purchase any new clippers or trimmers

slow setting is best used for a more textured cut, good for free hand clippering

I would put it on the slowest mode to clean up the fade some more with out putting some more lines in it. Something like the fast feed speed

nuffflavor That’s not the purpose of detachable clippers. They have adjustable clippers that serve their purpose

No mention about battery replacement????? In case of battery failure, What? Any thoughts about it? This is an expensive clipper to be disposable clipper if that's the case hmmmmm
