I decided to start with a funny D&D character I had... A Halfling Barbarian called Timothee Brokenbottle (a Halfling who, after being abused by Humans, decides to take matters into his own hands, but pushed it to far and was expelled from his "Hobbit village" The Bottle refers to the wine the Human were stealing from him. He becomes much wiser after this...). I will multi-class though a lot to make it viable: 1 level of Monk (OP for this Dex based Barbarian) and 1 to 3 levels of Rogue (Thug). With the Combat Reflexes from Monk and Weapon Finesse and Frightening from Thug, it is a pretty good combo :P

Ps : I am aware it is a "stats" challenge, as Halflings (Small) do reduced damage dice with weapons, but they have tons of bonuses and multi-classing can compensate. Not optimal as a pure Barbarian I think. The -2 Str is not a big deal: just means you won't start with 20.

I also just noticed that the game uses the Unchained version of Barbarian, so I can make a Finesse (Dex) based Barbarian :P ( Doing Dex damage requires either 3 Feats (one-hand combat only) OR 3 levels of Rogue/Thug (better) )

Good video, but I gotta say, I disagree with some parts of Barbarian/Fighter comparative. Allow me to explain why: First of all I'll ignore low impacts talents like "Danger Sense, Damage reduction etc. *Step one:* You made a really accurate comparison between 'Rage' and 'Weapon Training' its basically (+4 atk/dmg) Vs (+4 atk/dmg), there is the (-2CA difference but there is the extra HP to oppose that) so in essence, the Fighter get permanent what the Barbarian gain just during the 'Rage'. which indeed set the Fighter way ahead. *Step two:* Here we analyse the "rest" and its where I believe you made a mistake. First we have the Fighter with an extra 10 talents, that is a lot but the problem is that a total of 20 talents (10 normal + 10 fights) its just to much, you can get the Tier (S) and (A) talents with lot less, so you will be picking not really effective talents, Tier (B) like, which are far from useless but not that great too. In other hand, Barbarian have the normal 10 talents which will be filled with the Tier (S) and (A) Talents and some Rage Talents, that are usually way better than normal talents. Example: 'Guarded Stance' That start giving you (1CA) and end up giving (5CA) -> Yes, one talent 5 CA, you are unlike to get this with 3~4 normal talents; You can get the extra bite for (FULLATTACK-5), which are not that amazing, but probably better than most talents; And to finish it off lets say you go (3Talents in beast totems), ignoring the claw part that you are unlike to use, you get more (1CA~5CA) but this time is natural armor, and get the ability to full attack after a charge. *Step Three:* So my conclusion is that Fighter is Way better considering Barbarian out of rage, but a little worse during rage... That in theory would set Barbarian as better for Bosses and Fighter for long runs (Been Fighter better in average) BUT Mad Dog have animal companion, and surely I don't need to say how that is a HIGH impact, making barbarian probably as good or better than the Fighter ever out of Rage. PS: Barbarian get more HP. OBS: (Barbarian + Pet) brings more Loot carry capacity and if I am not wrong, he get more skills too.

Been hesitating to buy Pathfinder: Kingmaker for a while now. Your videos made me finally get it. Any chance for a necromancer tutorial/build? Been trying but i can't seem to make it feel satisfactory.

Yes, I have a lot of build guides in mind. Necromancer is a bit difficult in the early game before you get Raise Skeletons (or whatever its called) but when you get that spell you should be set :)

Sorcerer, wizard, and cleric can all be a "necromancer," but it depends what you're looking for. Unfortunately there aren't many raise dead-type spells (just animate dead and create undead), and they're not affected by improved summon feats. Regarding other necromancy spells, wizard (ench/div) and sorc (arcane) can get higher DC for curses and damage, but their bonus spells aren't so good or theme fitting. A sin magic wizard gets lots of spells, and quickly, but lacks the dc bonuses. Cleric/ecclesitheurge also gets lots of casts and quickly, plus gets channel energy and domains. Arcane sorc is probably the most powerful character in the end, but that has nothing to do with necromancy...it works with necro, evoc, illusion, conj. If you simply want to summon with an evil-ish theme, then abyssal sorc, cleric (herald caller or ecc both work), or monster tactician all do so--you'll just summon evil monsters instead of strictly undead.

listening to what your saying, im very new to the game on my like sixth restart of the game. 1 point in barbarian or 2 points(mad dog) 1 point in alcemist(the subclass u mentioned) and then the rest in warrior? Question: Do the pet companion level up with the character or with the class? Second Question: Why did u pick an orch?

Pet companion only levels up with Barbarian, so chose mad dog if you plan mostly level up as a Barbarian. It's the best for a main Barbarian. Level or two into Alcemist + rest Barbarian mad dog is very strong. If you really want to mostly fighter then Armored Hulk Barbarian 3-4 levels + two handed power attack warrior to level 16 would be good despite what he said about Armored hulk as you get the speed boost and other benefits from armored hulk. So Armored Hulk level 3, Alcemist 1, Two handed fighter 16 Would be good, but honestly thats 20 levels to get all the power out of it and the game completes around level 16-17. Just Mad Dog Barbarian with a big bad two handed weapon and dip in to alcemist is better then a fighter by a fair amount because the pets scales well and opens up more tactics. The game is complete around level 16 and this is a good combo start to end no waiting.

are there any good builds for melee/weapon based characters that don't funnel you into a single weapon type? I just think it kinda sucks that you get bottlenecked practically at level 1 to take weapon focus and then tunnel into one weapon type when you find all sorts of interesting weapon drops throughout the game. that was part of the fun in these sorts of rpgs is getting to pick up new equipment, but having to stick to just one type kinda kills the fun knowing this is all you'll ever use.

Go something crazy like a barbarian rogue, opens with backstabbing one enemy then maybe swap to a different set like dual axes to do frontline damage, and be super tanky. Is this a plausible build (not the best) but could you lone wolf it in unfair?

This is a nice intro to barbarian, but its about as good as reading the tooltips in game. Nothing on how to play barbarian or how to build one beyond lv 1.
