My father was a Baptist Minister. I had only heard of Baptism using the titles. During a Bible study, I was shown Jesus name Baptism in the Bible. In addition realizing the truth of Hear oh Israel the Lord our God is One. I became aware that Jesus was God in flesh. This revelation made Baptism in Jesus name even more meaningful in my life. Since it's Bible, I embraced it.

Me too, I was raised in a Baptist church. In 2015, I was forced to study the Bible deeply by two JW who came to my door, we met for two years regularly. When I noticed that nothing could convince them that Jesus is God, I asked God if I myself missed anything in my faith. I told him I would change anything anything if I only knew that it is true. He showed me baptism in Jesus name. I was rebaptized in 2017.

Nice. Amen. When we see it commanded to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and then we seeing them baptizing in the name of the Lord Jesus, any sensible person should understand that Jesus IS the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Everyone needs to be baptized in Jesus' name if they had not been before. Repentance and baptism in Jesus' name for the washing away of sins and being filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost is the only way to be saved.

@@danielstewart5689, John the Baptist only had one baptism. He didn’t baptize people wrong sometimes and right sometimes. Further, no one that was baptized by John is ever re-baptized, except in Acts 19. Everyone John baptized wasn’t rebaptized in order to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Paul asks them, to what were you baptized? And they responded, to John’s Baptism. Then, he explains that, John baptized unto Jesus. Paul finally, because they clearly didn’t believe on Jesus nor did they even understand, preached unto them Jesus. He didn’t do that for no reason, nor did he do it because they understood the gospel. He did it for the same reason that he preached the gospel to anyone - they needed to hear it in order to trust Christ and be saved. Salvation is by faith alone.

From 1 Timothy 3:16 explains beautifully and thoroughly exactly who God is! And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. And that's exactly whose Name I wanted on me when I got baptized. His Name is Jesus. What a lovely Name!! Been carrying His Name on me since I got baptized in 1967 and He is my Dearest Friend!

Years ago while baptizing people who had trusted Christ as their Saviour at FBC in Hammond, Indiana (I had already been ordained by Bro. Jack Hyles to preach the gospel and was hand picked by him to pastor the "D" adults that came to church on buses from far away cities, and yes, he knew we did not have any children, that was not and has never been an issue until the NIFB cult got started), I asked three boys who came into the baptistry why they were here. They could not give a proper answer, so I sent them back and said in the microphone loudly, so all would hear that were in the auditorium, that I would not baptize anyone that had not trusted in Christ as their Saviour because I was baptizing in His name, in His authority. I also said, I don't care about reaching baptism goals (they had a goal of baptizing 10,000 that year and this was in October or November during the Fall Program), I would NOT baptize anyone that I did not believe Jesus would baptize if He were here baptizing! Some bus workers got mad at me for that, but I stood my ground. Even back then I knew that baptism was in the name of Jesus Christ, in His authority, as He is the everlasting Father, the one true God who was manifest in flesh and tasted death for every man to make salvation available to all, but forced upon none. This video proves once again that Anderson is nothing more than a narcissistic, ego-maniac posing as an independent Baptist, but he does not know Baptist history! Good job exposing the madman, Bro. Baker!

The UPCI doctrine of 'Jesus Name Baptism' is false, thus to judge as though that is the standard of how this should be taught is foolish.

@@ValiantBaptistChurchI heard you read act:2:38 , but it seems to me like you did not read it carefully to be speaking like that that baptism has zero tolerance of saving , if you read acts:2:38 careful it said repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the (remission of sins) , study the word remission and then you will know the power in baptism in Jesus Christ name , we are washed and regenerated from our sins by being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, or you can learn more by reading Colossians:2 , baptism now saves us 1peter:3:21 that’s why Jesus Christ said in mark:16:16 he that believes and is baptized shall be saved , Galatians:3:27 for as many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ , all this show’s baptism in Jesus Christ name is a covenant/circumcision with God , and how can you have a covenant or be one with God if you were not washed and regenerated from your sins in the blood of Jesus Christ? So baptism is circumcision or covenant with God through his Son Jesus Christ, that’s why it have to be in the name of Jesus Christ, there’s power in the name of Jesus Christ when it is called over your baptism washing and regeneration from sin take place in the water and you raise up out of the water as a new man to live by the Holy spiritual unto the lord , so baptism is more than what you think it’s just like the scripture has said it is that’s what it is and for , God bless

Brother Baker, glad you were teaching on this. If in fact, you do believe that baptism, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is biblical, you should get re-baptized this way for it is biblical. Also, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, acts 2:39, Galatians 3:14. Speaking with other tongues is how the apostles knew that people had received. Acts 2:4, 10 verses, 44:46, and 19:6. A common error that many Baptists And others that believe that the gifts have ceased tend to make is assuming that, because in acts 2:4, they spoke with other tongues, and later, it says that they were speaking unknown languages, that that automatically means, then, in every instance of speaking with tongues, that this was the case. This is simply not true. Why? Because nowhere in chapter 10 or chapter 19 is it stated that tongues were understood. This is the exception rather than the rule although it can end does still happen today. In one Corinthians 14, Paul says that no man understands him. In the same chapter verses 22, he does say the tongues are for a son, and this is where understanding a known language can happen, and this is true. However, not every time, or even most of the time our tongues, being understood, by those who, pray in the spirit, one Corinthians 14:2, four, 14, etc.. Read one Corinthians, chapter 12, 13, and 14. With close examination, it can be seen that there are five different uses of speaking in tongues, and they are not all the same. I hope that this peaks your curiosity and if you would desire to reach out to me, I will answer any questions that you may have in this area. I certainly do not know everything. I am an ordained Pentecostal minister, and would love to answer any questions that you may have in this area. I know that many have prejudice in this area, but let us walk in the illumination of the word, as the Lord reveals it to us. I can be reached on Facebook and messenger. I would love to hear from you.

The only way to harmonize Jesus’ words with the apostles’ is by the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost being Jesus Christ. Peter was speaking by the Holy Ghost when he preached to be baptized in Jesus’ name, so it can’t be accounted to human error. With that understanding, John 17:6 makes far more sense - “ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me...” The only name that he manifested was Jesus.

Is it important to say the words? why? It's a matter of declaration between the candidate and the people around. Today, sadly, there are groups of Christians condemning who those are baptized in the way how our Lord Jesus said it or how our brother Peter said it. Both declarations are correct, both ways are perfect because the Bible says both. Any person who accepts our Lord Jesus as a Saviour and declares that He is the Son of God, therefore God himself, is saved. No matter what way the minister or official uses, God is celebrating a newborn to His kingdom, because is a spiritual deal between the Creator and His creature.

However, if you are trusting in your baptism (which from the sound of it that is the case) then, unfortunately, you aren’t saved. If you believe that a preacher must utter the words, “in Jesus’ name” before they are immersed, then again, your faith is in your baptism, and your tradition, and not in Christ.

@@ValiantBaptistChurch I'm Apostolic, the plan of salvation is Acts 2:38. You must repent, be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said you must be born again, born of the water and of the spirit.

You believe that salvation is through water baptism is why you hold to that. Baptism is a merely a symbol, albeit a sacred symbol. Ironically, you need to humble yourself by turning from trusting in your own works and righteousness and trust Christ alone.

@@ValiantBaptistChurch I don't think it is an "EITHER / OR " situation there. I believe BOTH of those facts come into play. Neither is there salvation in ANY other ( Part One) for there is NO OTHER NAME GIVEN AMONGST MEN UNDER HEAVEN whereby we ***MUST*** Be saved. You have seen a wonderful truth . Praying that one day you see it as something to embrace in obedience to the revelation or understanding that God himself has given you yourself.

@@doranconroy5107, salvation is not in baptism. Salvation is in trusting Christ alone. So, yeah, salvation IS in the name of Christ only. And what that means is, it's not in your own deeds -- like baptism, for example. The thief on the cross wasn't baptized, however, he did put his faith in Christ to save him. Serving as the perfect example that baptism does not save. And all that's needed to demonstrate that salvation is not by baptism is one person (not hundreds, just one) that was not baptized but yet saved. You need to repent of trusting in your own works and trust Christ alone.

@@ValiantBaptistChurch Thanks for your reply... but sorry I am going to have to go with JESUS who tells me clearly who shall be saved... HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED... But what is kind of scary to me and I hope it may give you some pause for thought is JESUS told us About the man who HEARD these sayings of his and DID them and his SALVATION and also about the man who heard these sayings of mine AND DOES NOT DO THEM and his sad and bitter destruction in the end. Jesus has shown you a wonderful truth. Do you suppose he did that so you would NOT embrace it but basically say OH THAT'S NICE LORD BUT I DON'T NEED IT. As for me BECAUSE I trust Christ I DO AS HE SAYS! I WALK IN THE LIGHT HE SHOWS ME and that is why I am WASHED IN JESUS BLOOD, BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME AND FILLED WITH JESUS SPIRIT. I pray the light goes on for you and that one day YOU TOO have the testimony that not only do you BELIEVE something but have OBEYED IT IN YOUR OWN LIFE .

It doesn’t matter if it’s in the name of Jesus or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All 3 are one. It is important however that the person submitting to be immersed knows that it’s for the remission of sins and how one calls on the name of the Lord.

That’s fine, it still proves there were tons of people at that time baptizing in Jesus’ name. Now what about the multiple Baptist churches from 1656, OR all of the scores of Baptist churches from 1660, OR the anabaptist in Poland from the 14th century, OR Thomas Armitage (Baptist) identifying forefathers of Baptist’s as those from the 6th century who baptized in Christ’s name? You’ve been lied to, lil buddy. Just face it. Baptists have historically baptized in the name of Jesus, and Steve says that it began in 1913 and that you must be a Pentecostal if you baptize in Christ name Wouldn’t you agree that that is a very uneducated, foolish statement? Why make something like that up? What’s his agenda?

Are you claiming that no-one got saved reading any texts prior to 1611? That’s as false as claiming that no-one including Baptists were baptising in the name of Jesus prior to 1913. The apostles were baptising in the name of Jesus! Keep drinking the koolaid, keep your head in the sand, keep being deceived and keep pouring hot coals on your head. Romans 10:9 (NIV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
