Kevin, over 10 years ago I brought you my banshee that was running crappy. You dune ported it and cleaned the carbs. When I picked it up " i said i already cleaned the carbs with carb cleaner". "You replied it was still blocked. You need to run a piece of wire through it." I still do it to this day, but i now use guitar string. Thanks for the tip!

Thats freakin saaawweeeet man!!! I'm getting so anxious to get my 521 together. Ordered pistons. Cylinders back from plate. No port work yet. 39mm pwks. Cpi In frames. Billet twister crank. Promod. Those shearers sound so nice btw!!! Thats the only video on KZread of a 521 actually ripping it up you the man man

Badass! I just put an atheana big bore kit on my 98 banshee having trouble trying to figure out how to adjust the carburetors.

You can get 200+ out of it when taken care of. Ride it like this video all the time and get 100 hours out of it.

Can you build me one? I had a guy down here in Tucson build me one with a 4 mil and with a Athena set up 68’s. Toomy’s with a plus4 swing arm. I paid 8 grand for that quad and I don’t think it was worth my money.

Should be easy to get power out of that setup. Just a port and tune away.

I recommend a torch tip cleaner instead they will save you time and there only 4 bucks

@@herrjugsracing7816 the jetting is off or air leak. That top end is screaming lil to hard. But alot of thing i dont know about the bike like (fuel type,timing,jetting size, jetting needle length and position,carb size, air filter set up, cylinder size and port and gearing. Been building fixing tunning just yamaha banshee only since i was 13. Im 38 now and all i ride is at glamis.

​@@DuneRiderLife I believe you are hearing the over rev. I'm holding the gear past peak power a lot in this video. As you know the power flattens out and then shortly after the motor will not climb in RPMs any longer. This is what I think makes it sound lean. I leak test every motor I build. The 521 was fat and I came down in jet size. The stock blue one did have a lean needle and I lowered the clip to up the needle. These are both good and back with the customers. I'm 53 now grew up in the desert and make a living at this but am always willing to listen to anyone who thinks they can do it better. You never know what you will learn and I don't claim to know it all.

You need to learn how to ride. It’s not just your jetting issues. You’re fouling your plugs constantly buy bogging it down. They are 2 strokes, not 4 strokes. By short shifting and not keeping your rpms up. You’re you’re running super fat and therefore, causing most of your build up issues with the jets. Open them up for a while. That’s how 2 strokes function and stay clean.
