This has been one of my go-to comfort videos for years now. I finally went out and bought the meatloaf meal to truly live the experience, and man.....I hurt. I think “made from scratch” starts when you’re the one adding all individual ingredients, right? So you can use a jar of pure tomatoes, that’s “from scratch” - it’s just you’re using a jar of tomatoes for your recipe. If someone else added parsley and garlic, and cooked those tomatoes into a sauce, and you bought tomato sauce, that’s not from scratch.

I love the incredibly cheap quality justification. But hold up... 'made from scratch marinara'?! What does that mean?! Obviously it was made from scratch at SOME point. There's no marinara fountain that you could've pulled from. I mean, generally 'made from scratch' only applies to people who are at home, not using pre-made, store bought products. It doesn't count if you're made from scratch when you ARE the store bought product!

At 27:43 I got an ad for a lottery. The ad ended with "Will you be the next winner?" Ian then answered with "Uh... maybe?" One of the best ad coincidences I've had.
The main difference in ingredients between the salisbury steak and meat loaf that I'm seeing are eggs, milk, onions, tomato concentrate, distilled vinegar, and corn syrup, which are all in the meatloaf but not the salisbury steak. The eggs and milk will give the meatloaf a more spongy texture, which I would guess is actually a good thing compared to the solid yet soft texture of the salisbury steak. The onions, tomato concentrate, and corn sryup should add a sweetness and the distilled vinegar a sourness that will together add a ton of flavor. So I'm not surprised that the meatloaf ultimately tasted better.
The bongos and spinny disc are the highlight of this video. Also, justice for Becky and her family of red sauce lovers.

Swedish meatballs are also literally never served with pasta. They're just meatballs then.
There's something really special about BrutalFoods. The weird goofy ah editing, the preparation of the meals, the jokes which are another level of humor to be honest, I love em. Also, Ian's voice is really calming in a special way, making brutalfoods reviews the strangest mugbangs/asmr videos.
24:55 made me laugh out loud which is something I VERY seldom do alone. I also lol every time you knock the box over and pair it with the glass shattering sound effect. Congratulations, you have earned a sub.

I love how water is higher on the ingredients list for the salisbury steak then the beef. A true mark of quality.

Must be why Ian noticed a taste difference, the beef flavor was less pronounced.
These meals were cheap, quick and easy to fix. They’re like an MRE for families who didn’t want to spend a lot. ❤️
I find it funny that every video Brutalmoose makes, he looks like an entirely different person.

Well, the thing is the vast majority of food and/or cooking videos typically have minimal to no editing on them, whereas Ian almost comically overedits all his food videos by contrast. I think its an amazing contrast to his "I cant be bothered to be professional" approach on camera.

On one of his streams he said he probably wouldn't do tuna noodle because he doesn't like tuna. The banana mayo salad might have been an awful idea but he liked all the ingredients separately, but he figured he wouldn't be able to give tuna noodle a good try because it would just be "it's bad because it's tuna".
There is like a stupid amount of effort in these videos I love them

my grandmother would always cook these for dinner whenever i went over to her house. When she was raising my mother, she barely had enough to keep her family of 6 fed. She never gave them up, as a way to remember where she came from, i guess. But this was extremely nostalgic for me.

Same, but with instant ramen noodles. I have consistently ate ramen noodles every other day since I was a kid, and I still love them, specifically cup noodle and the packaged chili flavor. Now I’ve tried other types and companies, but it remains my favorite comfort food. (I recommend Mama Ramen and Kimchi Nongshim bowls, those are my new favorites)

I love these too.
I remember those banquet family meals, my dad used to buy those all the time. the Salisbury steak fake grill marks used to be heavy on those a lot more visable. I remember there was "veal" parmesan, fried chicken, meat loaf. the Salsbury steak was very salty but in a way good.
Bro I made a comment a while back about how absolutely excellent the music while you've got the fork in the spaghetti and the BOWL is turning is. And man. I just watched again and it's so good it made me comment about it again! WELL PLAYED. HOPE YOURE WELL IAN. ALL LOVE BRUTAL GANG
I love that you're eating it while it spins. I seems so impractical and it's great.

planescaped it's because of his editing and his evolution of humor, he keeps things fresh and keeps your attention with the sound effects, the facial morphs and graphics and everything else, you'd think he had a script because everything is so precise and well done, as an actor and filmmaker I really appreciate the extra mile he takes.
