Same. I was watching the start of the VOD then he mentioned he was gonna edit it down and saw it was like a month old so I came here lol

the thing about horses in this game is, the faster your horse is, the longer it takes for it to reach max speed, and when you stop completely on a noble mount, you're giving the enemy a huge speed advantage. also ....steppe bandits are definitely not using sumpter horses, their parties move on the map almost at the same speed as caravans, meaning if they have horses they must be mounts, they might have some sumpter horses in inventory though hence why they drop them.

It's definitely come a long way since pre-release. If you're on PC, make sure you get on the Beta Branch because the last hotfix they released was quite good

I personally found out that in Khuzait tournaments when you get mounted glave fight, its actually better to go head on with the enemy and do a thrust as its faster than a swing obviously. You will need two good thrust hits landed, but you will more likely to win if you just thrust.

@@StratPlays No I think when you dropped a horse b/c of herding penalty you dropped a Steppe Horse they dropped right before. See 21:07 in the video.

Steppe Bandits ride Steppe Horses. They're not high tier, they might be the cheapest of the basic mounts (don't remember if that or the midland palfrey is cheaper), but they have decent speed and good maneuverability in exchange for terrible hp and charge damage. And since the game tracks momentum instead of just speed, every time you slow down to get an easier shot and the enemy continues trying to close to melee they're going to get a lot closer to you. Mix that with some basic flanking, and it's easy for one rider to get within spear reach while you focus in on a different group. Also I think most of your bowshots that go off target happen because you lose patience and release before you finish drawing; the reticle seemed like it was still getting smaller rapidly.

The algorithm recommended this to me, and I got hooked. Thanks for the video and the series! BTW, what mods are you using?

That change with the AI is wild. Literally just standing there bouncing there hits of each other while they all get stabbed to death.

i remember there was a player on pendor that usually played solo, when it was possible to acess the inventory he had a bunch of reserve arrows and 3 or 4 shields, he ran around until the enemy was out of arrows and then went for the kills...every battle was soo long

I really excited for some barbarian against 1000 guys kinda battles

i did this slightly diffrent on a playthrough! i allowed myself to retreat and return to the match but only if I road off the red and had enough bundles ov javlins/arrows to do a full refill (1 bundle for one bundle which I threw away when the battle was over). i did take prisoners. animals, goods since I was trying to max out 330 on all my skills by end game. i kept the looters to a minimum (think 45 with 45 'mount' horses, 20 mules gave me 7.1 speed) this let me be mobile and trade goods getting trade up to 330 before I finished. fun to see others obsessed with this game. wonder if it will ever be finished?

Steppe Bandits actually aren't equipped with Sumpter Horses (the pack animals) they're equipped with Steppe Horses (67 manoeuvre, 45 speed) But you're right about them dropping the rubbish horses :)

Very interesting, I'm eager to watch the campaign. BTW, why do you not use RBM mod and/or hide the terrible fat aiming "point", as in some earlier campaigns? Perhaps too difficult, especially on horseback? (I always play without the aim device, bows and crossbows are a real challenge, while javelins are fine)

They have a chance to drop a decent bow early game so I was trying to get one of those - no such luck though :(

Soloing in mount and blade is underrated

I can’t tell if you using this but it doesn’t look like you are. If you double tap the forward key while mounted your horse will accelerate a lot faster. Helps keep enemy cavalry off of you while shooting bows.

Dude I am Sorry to correct you but the symbol is the one from Carthage (the God Tanit to be precise) and not the female symbol. But other than that great job with the video!

I tried this and the problem I had was not being able to finish sieges because I couldn’t select people for the keep battle. I had to leave and give up all loot and xp whenever I got to that point

Yeah you have to approach sieges a bit differently - I tried to position myself towards the rear of their fief so I could pick people off as they retreated before they got to the keep (usually easier to do with arrows and an arrow barrel near by). We'll get to that part eventually :D

Yo strat if you manage to beat this challenge or not and if you do manage to beat the challenge well there another one for you kingslayer challenge must kill all the Lord's in calradia except minor factions solo WC threatening troops mod which is the hardest of all created by my team

I was using RTS camera, better time, equip best item and better smithing continued. I think character reloader also works and RBM should work. There are probably more, but I haven't done much this patch besides this campaign.

i am confused if this is live commentary and you can somehow speed up the battle or it is just commentary with sped up footage

No this was done on vanilla, but with the right focus/attribute point build and going solo you can get there very quickly. I usually start my campaigns off now for a few weeks going it solo because of that reason.

I found a way to cheese the ai in tournements you gotta use the rotating ur screen to hit earlier it does less damage but if u find the right way to do it it never fails

I have a couple to speed up time so I can get through the campaign faster (I do this for a living, so time is money). I have one to tell me which items are an upgrade. And finally a mod to bulk-craft items instead of doing them one by one. All of these are quality of life and to speed up the recording so I can move onto the next project sooner :)
