Bannerlord 1.3 Wishlist

With the release of 1.2.10 a lot of us are disappointed. The fixes are appreciated but we're all longing for more. A discussion on some changes and adjustments I would like to see in 1.3 after all my hours playing Bannerlord.

    Also, it would be great if Talewords guys improve the minor clan units especially the ones from the The Embers of the Flame. Moreover, it would be great if the clans had their own mechanics like launching gang wars for the Hidden hand.

    You really articulated well what I've been saying elsewhere. The battles for this game are one of a kind, they are always fun even when I know I'm just going to steamroll my opponent. But whenever I start a campaign, even if I have a certain role play backstory in my head, I always end up just doing the same thing over and over again, I have found myself recently getting bored even before I can found my own kingdom. No matter which faction/culture I pick I just end up playing the same way everytime. The only thing that's really different is how I use the various cultures troop trees on the battlemap.

    Here's my wishlist. 1.Something to do in the mid to end game instead of constant wars. It's not fun frantically running your army from one end of the map to the other while you're at war with two places and your vassels are constantly voting to go to war with a 3rd. I like the idea of cool downs for declaring war it's just too much to the point that if you want to go across the map to manage a town you have to sacrifice some fiefs. Your vassels rarely defend them and with constant war there's always someone attacking them. It's stupid I just can't enjoy mid to end game. 2. Kinda hit it in the first one but there really needs to be more diplomacy options. You can pummel a faction and they will still demand you pay for peace. It's annoying I legit love the beginning game but hate the end game. 3. Either just stop updating the game or be more mod friendly in updating it. Breaking mods constantly is out of control and the modders have fixed the game for the most part. Modders will add everything the players want they have already made some great mods but getting them to work is very difficult. 4. Also (mods would fix this) but it sucks that the enemy always runs away when they are out numbered. Every time and now you have to march your whole army 400 meters every time you want to fight and they back up right to the map border so you can only attack them from the front. No running cav behind them to flank because it's out of bounds. They should make it so the AI can't line up on the map boarder and maybe make the ai a little less of a pu$$y that just runs away. When there's a bridge sometimes they will try to use it as a kill box, great! Atleast I don't have to chase them from one side of the map to the other every single time! 5. I'm just going to say it again stop breaking the mods and let the modders fix this game! 6. More stuff to do in the cities would be nice. You have an epic throne room but nothing to do with it besides a board game....maybe have the option to sit on your throne and people will come to you with problems. These problems might be fixed by a simple decision or send a companion out or maybe you can do it yourself. Maybe track down bandits or stop a street gang or some decisions increase or decrease the city prosperity? This isn't a big deal to me but would give you some reason to actually go in your awesome castle. I gotta admit TW is super good at designing cities and castles but we never have a reason to use them. It's just a gold generator/trading spot. Either way they need to add stuff or just step away and let the modders work their magic and for any modders that may have read this you're the real heros of the gaming world. We can't thank you enough and keep up the good work!

    4. You don't need to chase them like you do. Just let them run to first fief and siege it. That's the logic.

    @rockybalboa5611 I meant once you're on the battlefield they run away to the edge of the map and you have to walk all your troops across the map before the fight it just takes forever. I get that they won't charge you and want to get in a defensive position but if they back up to the red map boarder you can't even flank them. Or do anything but hit them from the front. Your troops will not position behind them beyond the boarder. So what I'm saying is they are using that red wall as a blocker. If they want to go in a defensive position they shouldn't be doing that right on the map boarder.

    I can't agree with the "stop breaking mods" bit, it just throws console players under the bus meanwhile most modders fix their shit within the week, if it was something like Skyrim where the game's been out for a decade I'd agree but it's only been out for like 4 years

    I stopped recruiting troops from factions until I was a Merc in that faction. Forcing myself to use bandits, mercs or borrowed troops. When I get property I base the party around what I could get. I hire prisoners as auxiliaries. What id like to see is that nobles can't hire your men from your area...except mercs hired by the faction

    Something like the distinguished servive mod needs to be added. It sounds so cool and makes a lot of sense. In most of my playthroughs, i always keep delaying myself from trying to get conpanions because it's so tedious and annoying. Hope the devs see this video

    I started waiting for my kids to become 18 and create them for what I need. First 4 are always party leaders then I work on captains then focus on an elite group

    1) How about one of the possible downsides to a runaway steamroll is that the aggressor has a die roll for a plague to start. If your army keeps spreading it enters new areas in which it has not encountered local colds and such. 2) when empires are at war, the bandits will play. If lords are away on campaigns corruption and banditry increase day by day.

    I will say this, in vanilla campaign, i once had to fight a horde of 130 bnadits, no idea what the likelihood of them spawning that big, or what event caused them to form, whatever it was. I want more of it, the circumstances were perfect for that battle. I had just defeated caladog and was marching my wounded army back to friendly land, when i seent 130 bandits just vibing. I was at like 50% health or something and had 120 or so men with many more wounded, i chased them down and went to work

    A nemesis system to have enemies that really want to go for your clan. Assassins, blackmail, kidnapping . For me the campaign map side of the game feels 10% complete. There is nothing to do. How about a job on the town watch and patrolling the city for thieves in the market and getting a daily wage for the early game this could get you relations with lords and artisans or if your inclined work for the local crime lord and be a thief. The game currently is like you said battles are brilliant but the none combat is not great and there’s not a lot of it. I also would love dlc but not just combat related. If it was combat related not cultures added to empty parts of the map.

    what I want is naval combat, but that might just be a pipe dream. what I need is better mid game options, rebellions to actually be threats, events like bandit kings with large armies and bases you'd have to siege, civil wars without player input, give us options to assasinate our leaders if we wanted proper control of a kingdom. house alliances or even mini wars from squabbles or grudges between houses, and an endgame event like searaider armada landing and dropping massive armies, or all kingdoms still left 20 years into the game go after who has the dragon banner. pls taleworlds I'm drying up here console needs something.

    I want quests to kill a beast terrorizing the village: bear, lion, wild ox, boar, tiger, pack of wolves, panther, crocodile; all according to their area of distribution.

    I would like for your culture choice to be more impactful on the gameplay. Currently it only provides some bonus (shitty bonuses in some cases) and helps a bit with loyalty issues in fiefs. It makes no sense for villagers to allow their noble son's to be recruited by foreign lords especially ones you are at war with. You should still be able to do it but you should have to increase relations with that town or something in order to recruit troops. Troops in villages of your own culture should be easier to get. I like doing these thematic games, but I understand other players may not want to play this way. So maybe TW could put a toggle into the game options for the thematic play vs regular sandbox.

    The game need to invest in 'the story and RPG element of the game'. Practically create a separate game inside the city's where intrigue / dialog/ voice acting / grand story and all the quest systems are there. The quests need be around 400 if possible , some of them open map , some of them inside the city's. We need an 'assasin creed like setup' . Most of persons in city has to have a purpose. They need 3 years of new development just to do this.

    15:00 did you tried Feudal Warfare mode + true army cost with % of value equipment? Or DeReMilitari troop tree mode with pikemans(+ better pikes mod module)

    People expect a fully fleshed out total war + CK3 combo but theres a reason battles in CK3 suck. Theres a lot the devs could do yes but m&b has always been a shell for mods to flesh out. We actually need the devs to stop updating if we want mods bc mods getting broken every update pushed modders away I agree, going around trying to find the right companions is annoying. They jeed to revert the "need to meet someone to see stats" And yeah there needs to be more randomized campaigns. I hate that battania and sturgia are almost all gone before im even clan level 3. Once they lose the first war its a snowball

    Some valid points made in the video. Don't really agree regarding the Companions, the point of wanderers is that they wander, you can always pay the tavern keep to ask if any wanderer with a specific skill past through. Regarding sieges I've always found it stupid how the player can instantly move siege equipment to reserve while the AI has no such options, frankly I'd go as far as say to remove the option to move siege equipment to reserve. 100% agree when it comes to the amount of siege equipment and the walls. When it comes to Noble units, lock it behind being a Vassal or something? Kinda silly how Noble-born people are willing to follow some no-name level 1 dude on a Sumpter Horse. I also agree regarding the Character creation options.

    I'll keep it off my hard drive on my Xbox until they release something good. Diplomacy should be in vanilla default, but they were lazy and didn't do it. I do really hope Vlandia, Khuzaits and the Aserai get a huge nerf. They just steamroll and it gets boring.

    All of the siege AI needs improvement. I don't even fight defensive sieges because they're too buggy.

    Just lower the difficulty. No need to play bannerlord on everything. I use veteran combat difficulty and I usually only lose if I'm using something I'm not using on the character like if I'm a 1h + polearm + throwing, I'll lose in battania if I have to use 2h. But most everywhere else I do fine.

    @@CubeInspector It’s not so much the difficulty it’s more about how artificial it feels and how they have instantaneous reaction to everything like a calculator or a machine. Sea raiders will headshot me from a mile away with a javelin while I’m riding in circles full speed with my horse while there are like 100 soldiers charging right in front of them about to kill them they still going for me etc.

    And yeah i strongly disagree with your idea for noble troops. Youre missing the concept of noble troops. Its a birthright thing not an experience thing. What they should do is lower the amount of noble troop recruitment locations. Ypur idea that you should be clan tier 4 is a good idea. Maybe only bound villages of fiefs helf by a tier 4 clan being able to produce them would be a better idea. However the starting character stuff shouldnt be separated. You will build certain skills based on what you did during your childhood and life. Thats the entire reason parents had their kids do certain things

    i just want them to stop putting so much time into multiplayer battles and start actually updating the game. they have way more resources than modders and yet do 1/5 the work

    The noble troops should only be recruitable by high tier clans from a realism standpoint. Why would noble youths volunteer to follow a lower class warlord.

    I think they took the Noble Troop idea from the Prophesy of Pendor mod for Warband. But it's way too easy to recruit them. There was some limitations to how you got them in the mod, but I don't recall how, was it that they cost renown? I don't recall. Having a 200 stack of them was an end game goal, and losing it was an absolute disaster. They also took the minor faction idea, but didn't make them awesome boss-fights, which was cool as hell. Sadly TaleWorlds have made thematic decisions that makes it difficult to steal the Custom Knighthood Order idea, which was rad as hell.
